Ford Windstar fans, do a google!
2 large shrouded fans, pull over 4000cfm
the shroud size will fit a universal 31"x19" rad. with minor trimming.
and the repop fans are around $70 on ebay.
I always recommend these, they do a good job on the street.

Re: Minimum Cross Sectional Area: Question
With the 224/224 cam it is a very similar to my 383. My heads are on the very large side for it, but still made decent power, and ran well. It made 483hp/490tq. Chevy II with 373s a 10" verter and a 200-4r it ran 10.90s daily driver mellow, good power at 4000. mph was the same shifting at 6500...

Re: Minimum Cross Sectional Area: Question
I don't think you've said what type of cam you want to run? maybe I missed it...hyd flat? anyway, with your comp a bit on the low side you might be best to keep your seat timing on the shorter side and go with a more aggressive lobe to get you into the bigger .050" numbers. it will build more ...

Re: 6800 rpm 421 SBC Combo
I did Johnson lifters on my last SBC, only on the dyno, but they are quiet. If youre considering doing a HR, buy quality lifters, .135” P-rods, and spring pressure minimum 180/450, and it should turn 7000 with not too aggressive of a lobe. Preload ¼ turn minimum, but 1 turn is good. Use correct oil ...

Re: Quieter 4 inch muffler
Do you have tail pipes after the mufflers? If not, just stick some 3 1/2" Dynomax ultraflos on it, with a reducer before the mufflers. If its a street deal - its always better having packing type muffers, as they tend to knock down the low rpm noise more, as in normal street driving rpm range, ...

Re: Help Me Decide Brodix Track 1 or IK200
Well I thought your combo would be wanting a single plane, and the Holley being the best out of the box.
What happened to the mph when you made the swap? 1/8 mile and 1/4?

Re: tall deck and intake spacer plates
If youre going to be pulling the intake, you can use small screws on the spacers and mount the spacers to the head, so they are part of the heads, enabling you to pull the intake off.

Re: 423 SBC prediction
I don't really care for afr heads, as they tend to have some velocity issues. I assume they are around 2.25 csa which is on the small side for a 423, especially with the cam, rpm and comp you have, and the car isn't too heavy. I'm also not the only one who pointed this out. Heads need to be around 2...

Re: 423 SBC prediction
1. I think your heads are too small for the cubes, cam and comp. 2. Headers are too small. 1 7/8" is what you need. Pipemax will verify this. (my 420 picked up 1.5mph from 1 3/4" to 1 7/8") 3. Need more info on the exhaust, but flowmasters may not be the best choice especially if they...

Re: Hydraulic roller lifters: Morel 5044 vs Isky/Johnson needless
I have Jesel shafts on my 420sbc with Morels, they are noisy at cruise speeds, around 2000-2500rpm, can hear them clanking away if driving near a wall. My 490sbc has only been on the dyno, but has Johnson lifters with Jesel shafts, it was dead quiet at any rpm. So I don't see the shafts having an ef...

Re: New SBC Manifold with tooling
Why isn't the transition from the carb pad to the 1,2,7,8 runners a bit smoother with some "roof pitch" built into the manifold front to rear?
Could you add some material in front and behind the carb pad for this? not criticizing, just my initial thoughts.
