Re: Jesel crank seal install??
I tried that, tried a cone drinking cup too, but the size difference is too much for anything flimsy. I cut down a rear seal install sleeve and am going to try that in the morning. Time to drink bourbon now lol.

Re: Jesel crank seal install??
Thanks, Ryan! That is exactly the issue. The dyno adapter plates are working great by the way!

Jesel crank seal install??
Small block chevy with big block snout, seal runs on the crankshaft. What is the trick to installing this without damaging the seal? Already fubarred one seal, tad bit expensive!

Re: Willys Superbowl
This carb came straight from Willys, definitely has jets, not the adjustable style seen on most of their carbs. Customer said that Will jr built this custom for him. I am going to call Willys in the morning as they were closed on Friday. Hate that they have no tech info on the website.

Re: Willys Superbowl
Customer brought one in to dyno his engine with. It’s used, so i pulled the bowls to check for dirt, etc. It is a 750cfm carb and only has 67 jets in it all around. Do these typically require less jet than a standard Holley type carb? I saw the plugs from where he ran it last and they look very lean...

Comp beehive springs
Anyone using the Comp 26918 springs in an endurance application? Rates and dimensions will fit my engine, but not sure of the quality. Engine currently has Comp 977 springs on it, and they only last about half season.

Re: Under Performers
I love it when a customer wants their engine to sound like a top fuel car at idle, but wants it to perform on the street. I always tell them you can't have both. Pick one.

Re: Dart SHP block questions
You will need to clean it, we deburr everything, will need decked to your desired height, Hone cylinders to size, hone lifter bores to size, and any clearance work for rods. $1000.00 is a good deal, and they are very superior to stock GM blocks.

Re: How does a dome increase compression?
Class Act- YES we did dyno it, otherwise how would I have known the numbers? Not guessing, it was factual reality that I saw with my own eyes! We at first thought there was something wrong with the dyno/data, but after freshen with domes, it was back to original numbers (or very close). And yes, mos...

Re: How does a dome increase compression?
The reason for my post- few years back we had a customer that was point racing. Dropped a valve damaging a couple pistons. He had custom made domes, we couldn’t get replacements in time, so we got a set of flat tops and bandaged it back together so he could keep his championship hopes alive. To my s...

Re: How does a dome increase compression?
My thoughts were, a domed piston has less cylinder volume at bottom dead center ( by the amount of dome) than say, a flat top piston. Again, just curious as to how subtracting x amount of volume at bdc makes more compression than subtracting same amount at tdc.

How does a dome increase compression?
Just wild wonderings of a fragile mind.. doesn't a dome take up the same amount of space at the bottom of the stroke as it displaces at the top? Seems like what we gain in dome volume, we lose in swept volume of the cylinder. Maybe I missed that day at tech school...can anyone shed light in layman's...

Re: 500 cfm carb horsepower
Cam King- those numbers are what we have been seeing as well. I do have a 415 with your cam, flat tappet, single plane intake that made 515. Reason for my question is that I dynoed an engine for someone and it made 440 with a 4412, pulled it and put on a 750 cfm carb and it made 495. Customer was ex...
