If you ground both ends of the shield, the shield just becomes another wire.

Re: Help identify bbc exhaust valve
An Inconel valve will be magnetic on one end about halfway on the stem and non magnetic on the other end. Hiya, Manley's are that way, 2 piece "welded". Ferrea and others are not. Just fyi. I don't know if the inconel valves are welded. What I do know per Manley is that all Inconel valves...

Re: Current Scat/Eagle crank quality
Several thoughts about Scat over the last year. Seems the 9000 cast series always came in a cheap brown cardboard box and then were reboxed in the white Scat box. Journals had the chinese soaked toilet paper on the journals. Appeared the the cranks were finished off shore and USA Scat reboxed them. ...

Re: Help identify bbc exhaust valve
An Inconel valve will be magnetic on one end about halfway on the stem and non magnetic on the other end. Nothing on this is magnetic except the stem tip. Even the intake valves which should be stainless are not magnetic. Well if the entire valve is non magnetic except for the tip they are not Inco...

Re: 850-16 Comp Hyd Roller Lifters ticking SHP/SBC
Like F-Bird stated the Comp XE profiles are very aggressive lobes and can be quite noisy. ACertain roller rockers are more noisy than others as well.
Any chance you could try a set of stud and ball rockers to see if they are any quieter?

FE pushrod length ??
Helping a fellow out with his 360 FE Ford engine. He has installed a hydraulic roller cam and lifters and needs a much shorter pushrod than what the factory used for the standard flat tappet cams. Factory heads with non adjustable rocker assembly. Stock deck height, heads have been surfaced .010 or ...

Re: Stainless steel valve ??
Rgalajda and Tom.
Thank you for your response.
That is what I thought.
Person stating what I questioned was pretty emphatic about his statement. So much that it made me doubt myself. As I have aged Istart to question my memory.
Thank you.

Stainless steel valve ??
I was reading something the other day about not running SS valves directly on a cast iron head or guide. Article stated the Cast material needs a chrome stemmed valve to prevent excessive wear. I have never had any issues running SS valves but they have always been in a bronze guide. Never heard of ...

Re: Erson Cams Quality Discussion
I have not seen them for quite a while on this sight or any other.
Call PBM/Erson and ask for John Hartman for cam questions

Cam shop is still grinding camshafts.
I orderd a BBC roller a couple of weeks ago.
Cores are still an issue.

Re: interlocking valve seat repair
I’d just replace both, and have the interlock end up the way it came from brodix. Not that big of a deal........ just some extra time. OK do you cut the head for any over size on the seats? Local shop wanted to weld up the head and then recut from scratch. Only divot from valve bending is in the se...

Re: Why are these holes made in crankshafts?
Those holes are to help keep the crankshaft in balance. As strokes get longer and longer, counter weights have to get larger and larger. Drilling those holes helps to allow keeping the weights on both the pin end and counter weight end manageable. helps keeping the overall total weight of the cranks...
