AXE Equipment SW-32HT Parts Washer
I bought this parts washer back in 2008 for my engine building business. It has less than 2 hours on it and those were as a demo machine at the factory. I never hooked it up and it has been sitting my garage for 10 years- still less that 10 hours on it. Really need the space so I'd like to sell it. I...

Re: 5-Valve Turbo Beetle Valve Guide Installation
I am working on a friends 5-valve turbo Beetle cylinder head and he needs new exhaust guides installed. Does anyone have any experience with these heads? The valve guides (bronze) do not have a shoulder/lip (ala motorcycles) to keep the guide from moving down into the valve pocket area. In other wo...

Re: turbo fuel economy
Consider: You can't run the same A/F at 14.7psi as N/A You don't need any boost to run a truck down the highway at 70mph Going up hills where your boost vs rpm scenario comes into play is generally a small part of the drive cycle. Why not just gear the N/A one long? There is a gain to be had using l...

Re: Decking new Aluminum block
I see, thank you for explaining.Dave Koehler wrote:These type of blocks have flanged sleeves.
Remove sleeve, deck block to whatever, machine sleeve to height required, reinstall, hone, collect money.
These are dry sleeves, correct? Does pressing them in and out not affect the interference fit?

Re: Decking new Aluminum block
If you are sure of your measurement run it Most are higher than that & need to be set & then cut "Of course you guys are aware that aluminum grows 2 x's steel and a ( I do not know your block ) 9 '' SBC grows .009 thou at temperature" :)and as Dave Koehler said they sit proud, be ...

I would rate the original set-up as stronger and less likely to fail than the one you made.

Is it normal that the sleeves stick above the deck?

Re: What's wrong with NASCAR's EFI?
Yep, like to see how the "purdy" boys fair in a good ole boys car. The myth that driving a race car is for tough guys was debunked for me when teen age girls started driving fuel cars. I used to do some work in Hartmans shop when Rhonda first started driving, a few months previous she was...
