You could of tried one of these while you were at it.

Re: Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Ron I believe. I reached them, turns out calling on lunch break wasn't the best call. They are closed from 12:30-1:30

Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Been trying to pick up some parts. I know Ron passed, but I hope we can still get parts.

Re: camshaft intake valve closing

I will have to see what I have in my software. This shows what you are talking about but doesn't produce identical result to yours. The RPM is a little lower for the SBF. Stan ab-tmc-bbc-sbf.gif I'm shooting a little off the hip from engines I have experience with. My EMC 289 had a 242@.050 install...

Re: camshaft intake valve closing

This maybe be off topic but I think it relates. The intake valve closing very much relates to the amount of intake valve area an engine has. This is vague but works out pretty close. If you had a lobe that was 280@ .020 250 @.050" .380" lobe lift. Took a 480" BBC with a 2.250 valve i...

Ron Iskenderian has passed away

Ron was one of Ed's sons. We've done business with them over the years. He helped us with a few projects over the years. R.I.P. Ron.

Re: F/T cam with tool steel lifter

I'm sure I'm gonna get slammed for this but I think you might have some minor valve float issues. We have run tool steel alot over the last few years. The only things I saw do that were not enough spring pressure or water in the oil. 370lbs over the nose needs a hollow stem valve to get to 7200-7400...

Do you have any details about it. What brand is it, what is the drum weight, does it have a computer when was it used last, where is it. THanks.

Re: Why 4 degrees?

Point me to a lobe design that specifically changes IVO and EVC to add overlap area while maintaining the same EVO and IVC points, outside of dynamic reasons? If anything, as everything gets more efficient, you see less time (duration) needed, and with increasing rpm's wider centerline spread, for ...

Re: Why 4 degrees?

If 600c is constant temperature of the exhaust valve why does the engine need a spark plug. In order for something to light it has to have enough energy to burn it. It could burn the fuel for a period of time but as the air fuel charge bypass the valve its heat energy will diminish rapidly. With co...

Re: Why 4 degrees?

It’s not just the events, but it’s dictated by mechanical limits and the derivatives. It’s a 2D problem. obviously the overlap amount is not just events, but how do you support the claim that overlap is the result/outcome? how would you test it? Point me to a lobe design that specifically changes I...
