Re: 2011 EMC Thoughts

Any guesses as to what size engine will win this year ? For some reason I keep thinking the rules favor engines around 380 to 430, but I also think someone will through that thought right on its behind. It would be intersting if the top three winners where all totally different CID, or if they all c...

Re: Looking for rocker help

Valve and push rod length don't change the lift of the cam or valve opening , only increased rocker ration can do that. It does not matter if the valve and push rod are both 2" longer, the lobe on the cam remains the same and only provide the lift that is ground in the lobe. Do some reading Pl...

Re: Engine Question

If you do use the K&W it tells how to do it, but I dont remember if it tells you to remove the thermostat, do so if it doesnt. WHen getting the engine run in with the leak seal mix get it as hot as you can without it blowning out on you, then shut down, remove spark plugs, then let set for 24 ho...

Re: Engine Question

The K&W engine block sealer really works great for things like this. YOu need to read the dirrections and do exactly as it says, if done right it will seal, hold without letting go, and not stop anything else up. No thermostat, no antyfreeze, and letting it set 24 hours with the spark plugs out ...

Re: AED dominator

Sounds to me like your metering block or the body of the carb have become warped and the gaskets are not seals as they should, possobly letting curcuits cross over between teh block and the body. A warped intake or adaptor could contribute to warping the carb body also so check everything. ALso air ...

One or the other, air bleed with trash also coul dbe going on . If plugs are wet and black I would go to PV, if not look into idle curcuit.

Re: Hemi to Power Glide

I believe JW Performance the makers of Ultra Bell have those. They also have the 130 tooth flywheel. They call it " The Wheel" the flywheels they have, although that may just be the 130 tooth they call that. I think I seen them at CampBellInterprises.com. Are you going to be running the Ul...

Re: Fuel Gauge reading

A little more info about how the fuel system is setup, exactly? Line sizes, regulator location, pressure guage location. Also what type driving you talking about? Cruising, WOT, both ? ANd the carb never runs out of fuel you say, correct? Does the system have a return line? It does sound like someth...

Re: Spread bore Holley

I can understand the instant response, infact it is what I expected because it seems to be what most go against. Being on a budget most of my life I was forced to work with what I could afford and the VS carbs where always cheaper. I guess this kinda forced me into figuring out how to make them work...

Re: Spread bore Holley

Matt what is about vacume seconday carbs you dont like? I know many dont like them because of the power diff for racing but even that can be worked with, and on a street car maybe even taken advantage of. I have had no problems getting any vacume secondary carb to open when I needed. Sometimes modif...

Re: less spring pressure, better mileage?

Yes, any friction you can relieve will give better results. BUT, dont get carried away here, the amount of savings between being about to turn 5500rpm or 4000 rpm is likely to be very little. That doesnt mean you might be able to find some pressure that is extra that you could be without. Plus using...

Re: Look at how many empty seats at Dover

I think there is some good drivers out there right now, but you just cant enjoy them like we did back when Dale was with us. The cars are the problem. Plus its getting so out of touch with what the fan can relate to. Use to he could go down to main street and buy something very close to what they ra...
