Re: Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Well, after making multiple comments on preferring emails, this happens. I just got off the phone from an hour long call with tech support, regarding our "tech@jonescams.com" email. Supposedly someone was trying to send malware to everyone on the server our website is on, so they have shut...

Re: Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Kudos, Mike. You and Ed went different ways in making cams, but a family-owned company is always my first choice to deal with. Thanks for hanging in there. I was never the salesman Ed was, but even back in the 50's Ed new how valuable his time was. If you called Isky Cams to talk to Ed, according t...

Re: Anyone been able to reach Isky Cams lately?

Many of us old school guys are "no phone number, no business. I also respect the business owners wishes, if they only communicate through e-mails, OK by me, I am still able to accomplish what I want to do with business owners who still have customer service and a phone number. I know the world...

Re: OE style roller lifters SBC

buy a set of the GM LS7 lifters, and be done with it.
Buy them direct from a GM dealer, because there's a lot of fakes being sold on the internet.

Re: camshaft intake valve closing

Exactly what I'm talking about. 19,000 cam tests?!? Lol If I remember right it was over a 3 year period. Do the numbers, it's physical impossible, especially in the 80s! The funny thing is, my dad was friends with Harvey Crane, and when he went to Crane Cams back in the 80's, Harvey was giving my d...

Re: Howards Hydraulic Flat Tappet Lifters - What In The World?

You won't see that issue with our Hydraulic flat tappet lifters, and that's the reason why they're $170 a set.

Re: Lifters and compatible camshaft materials

There were steel flat tappet cams, before I was born, They ran against Chilled Iron lifters. They ran Chilled Iron lifters in NASCAR, against the stelite welded flat tappet cams. In the late 90's, good Chilled Iron lifters became impossible to get. After a bunch of R&D, NASCAR teams started maki...

Re: Lifters and compatible camshaft materials

What exactly is a billet steel camshaft made of I wonder? it's not like there is a standard. I'm surprised they even have a warning label. Exactly, what works against a "Billet" S7 steel cam, may not work against a "Billet" 8620 steel cam. We only make billet steel cores, and de...
