Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

My 390 Stocker heads have valves sunk to get P/V clearance and even have to run 109° LCA on top of that. But that was pretty fat duration cams also. That entails pretty stiff valve springs. You do what you gotta do. SS/G progress: Left #1 Chassis Prison to #2 Chassis Prison! Nothing like the Warden...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

Stock has allowed aftermarket ,bigger sump pans for years That's incorrect. In some cases, the legal replacement pans have significant sump depth changes from what was really O.E. from the factory while others aren't allowed this. For example, here's the legal oil pan style for most small block Che...

Re: Stock Eliminator secrets?

What's the purpose of the holes in the bottom of the cyls? Something to do with crankcase venting? its a 4-Stroke Engine above the Piston tops , but it acts as a 2-Stroke engine below the Piston , example : 300cid 4-Stroke .. is probably moving around 600cid Air in the Crankcase area for the same R...

Re: 302 Ford Blocks

I'm building a 7500 rpm+, 306 CI engine. Eagle neutral balanced crank, SRP forged FT pistons, .000 deck clearance. 2.100 x 5.4, light weight rods. It's all at the shop, being balanced, right now. I have 3 different blocks that I can use: 1. C8 -A 2. C9 -C 3. D4 -AB Do any of these have a advantage,...

I have no idea what todayes heads flow. These are from some time ago. They were not just ported by Darin but are the heads he designed for Ford. Ford Pro Stock RCV (Canted Valve) Ported Darin Morgan SF600 Alum Exhaust = No Pipe 2.575 0.20000 - 175 0.30000 - 273 0.40000 - 369 0.50000 - 457 0.60000 -...

Re: Sbf Trick flow Cast iron heads

I believe you will find the TFS iron head was the R series, not the high port. I ported those when they first came out. The iron was some of the most dense I have ever worked with. Joe-71 you sure ? The R head came out years later...after the twisted wedge head....the valves were twisted on the R h...

The first batch of the heads were 180 runner and later on they made some that were 192. I had a set of the early castings... I run the older alums now

Re: 302 Ford manifold selection

I'm building a 306 CI engine that will rev to at least 7800 rpm. The original, funnel web is out, because they are unavailable (shoot me a message if you have one). So, I would like opinions and dyno results, if you have them, on the 4830 AFR, Super Victor and the Trick Flow TFS-52400111 manifolds....

Re: Achieving Rpk , Rk and Rvk numbers during honing

Or, that your intake gaskets aren't sucking oil from the valley ever so slightly. If you don't use silicone around the intake gaskets on both sides, I have seen that happen. Makes perfect sense. The only thing that makes me question that is the gaskets have enough impression ( read that , you can se...
