Hi,
Look at Johnson's Speed Warehouse on Ebay. They have lots of old stock of performance parts. Many forged 350 piston sets.

Hi,
Speedway makes an .024 steel shim for the 400. That's the only one I know of.

Buy a Racing helmet
Hi, anyone know of a site that has helmet reviews or comparison? Or even a quick tutorial on what to look for when buying a helmet? New 2015 rated helmets are available now. I've heard all the "what's your head worth" comments before but I'm just an amateur, occasional user and want a valu...

Re: Engine Temp
I used to run some demolition derbies and it's actually amazing how long some engines will run without coolant. I had an old early seventies Cadillac that we ran after the derbie without coolant or oil and we couldn't hardly get it to die. It would die and then start right back up again. We were hop...

Is that why the valve tips are ground down all the way to the keepers?

Hi,
Read this: http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/13 ... akes_test/
The Holley 300-25 was ranked as second best in Peak horsepower and fourth in Average torque. It was mentioned as one of the best overall manifolds

Re: dpf regeneration question
Hi,
I don't know about cars, but on trucks the stationary regen only happens if you flip a switch. They do get very hot while driving and get really hot during a regen. I would look for a more conventional reason for the fire, ie. oil leak, fuel leak, electrical short, etc.

Re: Tunnel Ram designed for the street
Hi,
I have always thought that a dual plane tunnel ram would make an awesome street manifold. A la tork link but a true divided plenum dual plane with some very long smooth runners.

Re: Dyno results
Hi, I'm far from an expert but I think you are really missing the boat in not trying a Performer RPM dual plane. I have seen many published dyno tests showing that this manifold is very capable of making 550 HP or more if worked over. It may not make a lot more top end HP but it will definately add ...

Re: Demo Derby Engine Cooling
Hi, Your customer is right, they do run a long time without water. We ran them in the derbies and then tried to blow up the engine afterwards with no water and they just wouldn't die. I always used synthetic oil. Lots of guys use Slick 50 or other additives. Pure water with Water Wetter or equivalen...

Re: Vortec Iron Heads Aftermarket Vendors
On those ebay heads... how do you get a pre-87 intake to cover the tall vortec ports (or do these have standard pre-87 port dimensions at entrance)? My understanding was that most dual plane intakes don't have enough meat above the port to seal the taller vortec ports. :?: I bought a set of those h...
