Re: King versus clevite

I recently experienced this with King MB5013XP (four differents sets from different suplliers) and King XP in .010 oversize. The finish was terrible, especially on the thrust, and the oil clearances were everywhere. I trusted the bearings, had the block line honed, tried another STD crank, etc. Turn...

Plasma Moly 3.810, 1.5mm ring needed!!

I broke one during a build.

I'll buy the entire set if need be.

They show to be Hastings SM8531 rings.

Ford 2.3 shortblock, Stg III head, Dynamic Mighty Mite C4

reason for selling parts: Assembler installed cam bearings incorrectly, had to pull engine to inspect. Moving out of the 4 cylinder realm into the GM world where I belong. Cylinder head checked out fine and is at Wilkes Performance being reassembled. Stinger Performance "CAS" setup for 2.3...

Re: 1987 Allegro drivetrain worth?

Most GM based motorhomes can be more easily serviced by dropping the engine out the bottom. I used a truck transmission jack to remove the suspension crossmember (it unbolts from the frame). Then using the same jack with a fixture, remove the engine and transmission as one unit. Thank you very much...

Re: Conductive Heat Transfer Across a Bolted Automotive Joint and the Influence of Interface Conditioning

Bolted joints are an insane rabbit hole that can take over your life if you get into the hardcore engineering of it. We've got a team of people who ONLY do bolted joint analysis, the information form we have to fill out and submit to have our setup analyzed makes you realize there's things you woul...

1987 Allegro drivetrain worth?

My used-to-be pristine 87 Allegro with ~35k miles is beyond my time to restore it. It is commonly understood that to remove the GM 454, it will have to come out of the cab. Labor-intensive, to say the least. I'm trying to decide if a 35k mile, standard bore 454 (and HD TH400) is worth the effort- I ...

Suspension / Chassis setup for drag racing

We have TV shows on building engines, installing turbo kits, etc.

Nothing on chassis setup. I'd like some of the more experienced drag racers to speak about different setups- Ladder, 4link, Ansen ground grabbers, slapper bars, etc.

Please.

I've read everything I could on Godbold's (?) website.

Re: Stuck headstuds in aluminum block

I learned the acetone+ATF trick here a while back and it's never failed me. Occasionally I'll add heat with it.

Now I have to remember the 300A welding lead trick.

2019 Fiesta ST

I've run the mill of hotrods, but I still enjoy a car that handles well and makes me smile. In all seriousness- if you guys and gals are considering buying a sporty (understatement) economy car, you need to drive a Fiesta ST. Not the Focus, mind you. I added a tune (~15 whp and 40 ft/lbs), a trunk b...
