Re: 383 sbc first dyno experience
Good stuff Steve and Thanks for sharing. Very nice work! Still trying to wrap my head around the valve sizing though LOL. I just come here to learn.... as a hobbyist. I think most people looking for the most power out of that combo at that rpm range would be using a head with a 2.05 or 2.08 valve. ...

850 carb is downleg booster ? Reducing plenum volume/ shape pointing to metering fluctuations into chamber Exhaust collector extensions would of soothed it a little End runner lash tests (ex) worth trying Figuring the power delta between centre and end runners helps(manifold dependant) Track testing...

Re: 383 sbc first dyno experience
To insight a bit of discussion I am curious on why peaks fell where they did and why it carries up top to 7000rpm. The only headers I could use were my 1 3/4" 4 into 1 headers Could not use the 13" extensions as they hit dyno frame. So shelf header with 3" collector at 6" long w...

Re: Pro systems carburetor
My suggestion for a budget carb contact ATM. Otherwise get something custom from a more reputable company. Crossing plenty of lines here.. Being honest. I build carbs, and I have repaired a lot of those. I don't fault any company for their calibrations I may not agree with, as long as the components...

Re: QFT 1050 - 4150 CARB
You are very methodical and disciplined in documenting against "internet data" - just understand that the Dyno numbers by and large will not translate to the "Best ET/MPH run" - by a large factor.
If this is your test against the rest .. so to speak .. Enjoy.

Re: Intake manifold spacers
Spacers shine on the stationary dyno stand - you do not want slow fuel discharge and tall spacers in a drag launch scenario.

Re: High ratio Jesel etc rockers-1.9 to 2.0-on a SB Chev 23 degree head
Joe, Jesel guy said a while back they 'may' be able to. Am really looking for someone who has actually done it and what was involved to get the geometry correct... Arthur, I would only use T&D or Jesel, not an engine shop as they don't build their own Jesels or T&D's. I doing this deal for ...
