Re: My CompCams Cam Card ECL Question
The cam card is odd and precise. I would check that cam with a wheel for sure. I assume it was a custom grind? Close to a Crane F-278-2 solid flat tappet but just a bit more exhaust timing. Cast iron exhaust manifolds maybe? I have an old Isky cam with rounded up valve timing numbers on the card. I...

Re: My CompCams Cam Card ECL Question
Just guesstimating, but Comp may have paired non-symmetrical intake and exhaust lobes from different design families that have different offsets from seat timing to .050" timing, in order to achieve your requested specs. I wouldn't panic. The lobes are from different design families. The intak...

Re: My CompCams Cam Card ECL Question
On my previous CompCams I just never seen them put the exact precise degrees on my cam cards.
You all are correct in saying that it's in acceptable tolerance and is nothing to worry about.

My CompCams Cam Card ECL Question
Hello. I ordered and received my camshaft from Comp. I gave them these specs: 239 intake @ .050 254 exhaust @ .050 114 lobe separation 110 intake centerline Which should work out to: ivo 9.5 Ivc 49.5 evo 65 evc 9 However my cam card valve timing @ .050 read: ivo 9.5 ivc 49.5 evo 64.9 evc 9.1 Which w...

Are New Generation LS7, LSA SRT8 etc OEM Forged Crankshafts Nitrided?
Question. Some OEM engines came factory with forged steel crankshafts such all of Mopar SRT8 engines (6.1, 6.4, and 6.2) and GM LSA, LS7 and a few others i believe. Are they nitrided as well from the foundry? They seem hold up very well even over 1000 horsepower. Thanks in advance!

Camshaft for 371 G3 Hemi w 12.5:1 Compression

Scat Ultra Q Lite Rods Question
Have any of you all used or heard of anyone using the Scat Ulta Q Lite rods 2-350-6125-1888? If so what power level? What are your overall impression them? I'm building a 371 - 12.25:1 G3 Hemi with an forged offset crankshaft with the 1.889 journal size. Thanks in advance.

Spring Locator Clearances
Are you all for the most part going with .005 to .010 i.d. radial clearance of the locator from the valve guide? I'm upgrading my springs and noticed that my i.d of my locators were .030" larger than my guides.

Daily Driver Quiet Exhaust
I've searched and read several posts stating that going to a smaller diameter tailpipe over the rear axle (for cars with live axles) will quiet it down quite a bit. I have a Chrysler 300c that should put down 450whp with a 3 inch exhaust. It has a x-pipe and 20" case length dynomax ultraflow mu...

815hp 11.5:1 compression pump gas 438 Hemi. Outside of the 4 valve stuff, Hemi design especially the newer G3 Hemi heads are the best oem heads.

Re: Best engine??
Sticking with the criteria that you have to use 90% of the oem main components, actually todays small blocks are really good and hold their own. The 427 LS7 can be competitive. Especially the 6.4 392 Hemi. They arguably have the best cylinder heads ever offered in a oem small block reaching 400 cfm ...
