Re: Main bearing spacers and oil clearance questions

.003" with .004" on #5 is no problem and you will have zero issues. Just curious why you dont have the oil pump bolted on when checking. Bolt it on and watch the cap move. Surprised none of the other experts didn't notice. With those clearances......does it really matter?!? Lol Not really...

Re: SBC rod to cam clearance

Just curious if any one has compared the difference between the Scat standard H beam and there stroker H beams as far as cam clearance goes? Are they using shorter bolts or different shape on the rods or both? How much clearance do they actually gain?

SBC rod to cam clearance

Hey guys, building a 430ci SBC using SHP block, Scat 4.00" stroke, Scat stroker H beam rods and a solid roller in the 260 / 268 with around .420" lobes. Just wondering what the largest base circle cam I will get away with? Would be nice if anything larger than a .900" will fit.

Re: Changing 50 Degree Seat Angles To 45 Degree?

If you have all angles and seat widths, you can have them copied on a cnc newan. They can give you any seat, angle, widths, radius you want cheaper than re coating valves. For the HP your looking for, the slightly less flow you might get from the angle change will not be a issue. You can get 650 - 7...

Re: Changing 50 Degree Seat Angles To 45 Degree?

Face the valves to 50 deg. They are coated . What's worse, refacing coated valves & running them uncoated on seats that are compatible with uncoated Ti valves or butchering a nice 50 deg valve job in a head designed & ported to use 50 deg seats? Reface the valves, have them recoated if you ...

Chrysler RB build

One for the Mopar guys as I have a 540 build for a customer and cant seem to find a listing for any "HX" series main bearings for the 2.750 crank journal. I have seen the MS2233HG 3/4 groove and the MS1277HG full groove. I would prefer the 1/2 or 3/4 groove as I think that would be a bette...

Ford Distributor gear.

Just curious what guys are doing on the fords when using bronze distributor gears and changing them once they are worn? You can not line them up to use the same hole as they are pressed on and the chances of getting them lined up would be one in a hundred probably if your lucky. You take the origina...
