If you got the cash and the clout, the mobil1 race oil division will custom blend your oil and that is what the top teams do.

Re: Opinions on Elgin HPV valves

I have used the China Elgin valves in boats, 2bbl oval track, basic drag and stock stuff for years and have yet to see one fail. The sizing, stem finish, out of round, finish on the 45 is so much better on elgins than the EPWI's junk line of engine pro valves its sad. I always have to polish the all...

Re: Valve Seat Concentricity Shocker

for collet grinder you have to use a dial indicator mount on your valve grinder to get true valves. First, you chuck the valve just enuogh so when you and turn by hand the collet doesn't rotate. doing this and the machines collet becomes your runout fixture. slowly turn the valve and mark the high s...

Re: Ford MEL engine? Whaaaaaaaaaa???

Once again, Ford has not disappointed on being the most complicated manufacturer of car parts on earth. Why in the world did they make soooo many different engines??? IMHO 380 is too much head for 572 pump gas motor. I would use 340 - 360.

pamotorman wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2017 1:34 pm I wonder if putting breathers connected directly the oil pan would help so the pressure does not have to go back thru the whole engine and oil to get out ??
with dry sump the engine is sealed and special crankshaft seals are used to help build vacuum. Only the oil tank is vented.

Re: Oil pressure drops at hi RPM.....Stumped

some have expressed concern that my oil pressure is to high, is there a problem with running 100psi of oil pressure? this is a race engine that lives it life full throttle for up to 90 seconds at a time. my thought is more pressure more flow, more flow more cooling. HP is being wasted. Oil is being...
