What's the current school of thought. .445 Valve Lift Limit, what would be better? Rocker Ratio or Lobe lift to get to the .445, Yes I know its very little lift, but is their an advantage to say a 1.8 or higher vs a 1.6 maintaining the .445 valve lift? I am sure you had a reason for doing this test the way that you do, and hopefully it gave you the answer you were looking for. From what the OP posted he has a lift rule and said nothing about a duration rule. So he could just increase velocity on the .400 lobe cam to get the same area. Now I belie...

Can't change the "Core" itself but only rule is lift so you can do what you want with the actual lobe itself.

To hey aren’t that hard to find, $500-$1000 will get you a core engine, depending on condition. And yes you can find crack free ones too.
