I am sure you had a reason for doing this test the way that you do, and hopefully it gave you the answer you were looking for. From what the OP posted he has a lift rule and said nothing about a duration rule. So he could just increase velocity on the .400 lobe cam to get the same area. Now I belie...

To hey aren’t that hard to find, $500-$1000 will get you a core engine, depending on condition. And yes you can find crack free ones too.
