Ford explain their rationale here:

That there are now three races in the U.S. I'm sure was a large contributing factor.

Ford announce plans to return to F1 from the 2026 season
I remember the Ford/Cosworth DFV being a dominant force during that era from the late 60's up to Schumacher's/Benetton's championships '94.
2026 should prove interesting indeed.
Hmm. The ICE lives on. (In a hybrid of course).

Re: SBC gen1 porcupine heads.
Although, I know most people on here don't have a clue about road racing or endurance racing. Most but not all! Loved the endurance racing of the late 60's/early 70's as a young spectator. CanAm in the mid-70's at my home track Mosport Park. F1 for as long as I can remember. The opportunity to race...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
Weird seeing how they arent attached like the riveted ones but again, how much force does the tie bar see if everything is working as it should? Weird indeed. Especially when it's unexpected. Screenshot_20230203-063549-524.png One school of thought is that the cam was walking back and forth and eve...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
Skinny Z , Crower also uses a machine screw and button set up on Many of their solid rollers I have seen. Just noticed that Comp used a machine screw set up on their sbc T slot removable tie lifter also. Dan Not being in the solid lifter camp explains why I've never come across this before. (Let F-...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
Damn! How hard could that be to duplicate?
I'd like to have a a lifter set in hand to see the fasteners and how it all goes together.
But that's a project for another day I guess.
Thanks for that Dan. Excellent bit of info (to me anyway).

Do you have a P/N for that Isky solid tie-bar lifter?6.50camaro wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 6:27 pm Ya, I'd love to find a way to remove the rivet and replace it with some kind of bolt and button like Isky solids with the removable tie bar. Dan

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
I do know that they can't be taken apart. The lug that holds the link bar is in the way and won't let the pushrod plunger come out. That part pisses me off to no end. I've got an entirely serviceable set of COMP short travel lifters with steel bodies that I can't personally rebuild. And COMP is no ...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
Is there a way to tell which type the lifters are? I do know that they can't be taken apart. The lug that holds the link bar is in the way and won't let the pushrod plunger come out. I'm aware that the street roller has a .700" diameter wheel. The next step up has a .750". Morel lists that as does ...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
Curious Mike. Other than Johnson, who carries a US made roller lifter? Something that would take an aggressive profile and/or provide reasonable service life. Nothing spicy. 7k max. Maybe something along the lines of your EHR .360" lobes. There's a few companies making private label HR lifters in t...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
My lifters are Lunati, I think they are the street hydraulic roller lifters. Those are the Morel Street Performance lifters, and are made in Mexico. They're fine with a mild hydr roller profile with moderate spring pressures. I would not run them in any aggressive lobe profiles, or with heavy sprin...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
I've seen plenty of cast gm 400 cranks break at the front of the crank snout. An internally balanced 4340 crank would definitely make me more comfortable turning it up. I've heard similar stories. I think a few of them were referencing the externally balanced 3.75" cast steel crank as well. The int...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
My lifters are Lunati, I think they are the street hydraulic roller lifters. I'm not sure, but I doubt they are short travel. If I go this route, will I need to buy new spring seat locators or will the ones for the comp 987 springs work? Will my 10* locks work with beehive 10* retainers? I have no ...

Re: Cam gurus, I need advice
It's got a scat "cast steel" crank it and I'm not sure what kind of rpm it can tolerate. I never minded turning a 327 or 350 up but the longer strokes kinda make me nervous. Also, I've never done it with a hydraulic cam, I've always ran solid flat tappet cams, this is my first hydraulic roller and ...
