Re: 350ci 470HP Peak at 6000RPM

Those stacks always bring me back to the CanAm series with the BBC 427's. 427.jpg The vid below is a dyno test of that. https://youtu.be/v6dMJ5L6G2c Up and down from 742 to 749 indicated from 6000 to 7000. Re: TorqueMaster cam program update

Hi Stan

What's the latest with Torque Master?
It seems that the original webstore is no longer. I'd be interested in another go around with the program.
Thanks.

Re: 350ci 470HP Peak at 6000RPM

210 216 112 cam 5.7 Hemi, 6" extensions on speedmaster stacked injection, peaked just over 450 at 6,000. We definitely miss out on single carb manifold connected engines, a dual plane would have made his test more interesting. But not nearly the WOW factor. Those stacks always bring me back to the ...

Re: How will you go faster?

This whole post is almost a sales pitch for selling data loggers. Cheers Is that what's going on !!!! I thought I was in the some parallel universe where Horsepower is totally irrelevant and all motor racing is conducted standing around benches torquing. It used to be we hung around the work bench ...

Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell

When you have to make gaskets and be dead on, this is how I do it.. Having an assembled engine is a bonus. Drilling and pinning to match mating surfaces ensures a proper fit after assembly. I always admire your work Chad. When gasket matching with just an intake on hand, I’ll size the port smaller ...

Re: SBC Intake Manifolds: Creating Another List.

It's difficult to tell from the pictures so I'll ask how long those runners are from the plenum to the port face? Dunno, more even lengths than a single plane though. s-l1600 (13).jpg s-l1600 (1).jpg I think this Vortec has the stock manifold ? 550 lift cam springs and retainers. Injection plumbing...

What do you reckon that intake runner length is? How would it compare to a single plane? Looks nice and straight.

Re: SBC Intake Manifolds: Creating Another List.

All the other vortec head single planes are quite tall carb height.. Speaking of which, what's out there besides the usual suspects from Holley and Edelbrock? There's also Speedmaster. One I bought back in 2014. Procomp, lower runners are pretty small. 20140825_165241.jpg 20211228_113706.jpg Procom...

Re: Cost to rev higher

Street/Strip SBC or SBF safely revs to 6000 rpm How much more money and how much shorter life to build to: Safely rev to 6500 rpm? Safely rev to 7000 rpm? Safely rev to 7500 rpm? Safely rev to 8000 rpm? Exactly my questions although I'm thinking more about durability vs outright performance as oppo...

Re: How will you go faster?

"we cut a couple tenths off of the 60' and an equal amount at the top end" Somebody was trying to tell me this does not happen. Wasn't me. That car, IIRC as it's been over ten years, gained almost a half second overall with just the converter. Some may be attributable to the weather, but the datalo...

Re: How will you go faster?

Definitely. The converter can make all the difference. Between what we had (off the shelf TCI 10") to what we have (spec'd 9.5" Yank) we cut a couple tenths off of the 60' and an equal amount at the top end. The transmission was the same with the wide gear split but revs never dropped below 5k. It w...

Re: How will you go faster?

The G graph I produced earlier used the gear ratios from a Turbo 350. I now see it looks like Kevin / Skinny Z has a 700R. Take my calculations with a gain of salt. lol I have been told that they seem high. What this graph shows is the acceleration rate in each gear for both a 700R (higher lines) a...
