Re: Fuel injection is approved for NASCAR..
Just wanted to discus the change in rules where NASCAR is allowing fuel injection for the first time.. Who is for it/against it, and how do you think it will change the sport.. Sooner or later they will give them that energy boost button they are using now in F1. the driver collects energy reserve ...

Re: Fuel injection is approved for NASCAR..
Ok on the production car thing...They should run it like the American Lemans Series where they HAVE to have a "production based engine", and they even the playing field out by restrictors. Thats what NASCAR should do.. I think the only "stock" car racing left is the American Lema...

heres a big shocker! that thompson engine block was heavily modified with deck bridges, it resembles nothing that we the consumer gets. gm just failed to mention this little fact.[/quote] Yeah I figured there was more to the story then what GM claimed. And anytime you push ANY engine past the ...

Yeah as stated earlier, the big automakers stand behind their products and view them as "perfect" and they couldn't possibly have done something wrong, unforturnately they have unlimited resources at their disposal and will fight you EVERY step of the way. What is sad is they will spend WA...

Re: lsx lsx454 BLOWS UP. lsx 454 BREAKS. lsx-454 BLOWS OUT BORE
How many pounds of boost were you running? That engine has 11:1 compression from the factory, unless you switched out the pistons (which I hope you did). If you wanted a boosted lsx crate motor you should've gotten the 376 with 9:1 compression. And with the smaller bores it would've been more stable...

Yeah you guys are right when you say all those shops are pushing the crate engine business up... It's so hard to find a reputable shop that does stuff RIGHT. Maybe instead of rebuilding you guys should just start building crates and shipping them.

Sorry baracer, didnt mean to get off subject. Just curious. And I'm a chevy guy (as the name implies) but that is an IMPRESSIVE engine, and good looking too. No wonder Jon Kasse is always in the top 3 of the EMC.

Re: Another quality motor build
Yeah thats why I've been uneasy about it.. Something doesnt add up there. My friend thought he got a good deal but time will tell I guess. You just cant beat the GMPP deal if your on a strict budget. $1,500 for a new engine.

Re: Another quality motor build
Speaking of cheap machine shops.. has anyone heard anything about Means Motors in Wichita, KS? They rebuilt one of my friend's 351 windsor motors for $900. Thats with new pistons and cam. I was thinking about having them build a smallblock for me but I'm scared to at those prices, they have a decent...
