A new valve job was Just done right before the last drag week. I hope they are all ok.
PAC-1324 Set at 2.05 I/H.
I got the spring oil option for obvious reasons on drag weeks.

Re: Rocker Arms: Steel vs Aluminium
Just my experience very recently. I just was on 2023 dragweek with my car. SBF, Brodix Track one Raised Runner heads. I could have gone with a much more aggressive cam through Kuntz, but I didn't want to trade out rockers (different ratios) every track. So cam is 274, 294. .750, .744 lift. Car ran p...

Re: Pushrod and spring question
So the bit of over spring will cause this? Should we shim down to say 150 lbs @ seat.? Funny, I called comp. Guys said this rocker is for a 5/16 pushrod tip. I had also emailed earlier in the day. This was the comp tech email guy's (a different guy) response. "Our 1830 rocker arms can be used w...

Pushrod and spring question
Got a friend with 521 ci bbf 385 series. Street and a bit of strip action. Old Alum cj heads . Found the pushrod tips (very end) were really wore off. Rocker cups wore. He has comp pro magnum hd 1830-16 rockers. But his pushrods have 5/16 tips. (No part #). I am pretty sure he needs pushrods with a ...

Re: Need to worry about rod bushings??
The pin bores on the coated pistons were natural. They were about the only spot on the piston that was not coated. (and again, new pistons are just skirt moly coated now). My concern is if the pins got hot enough to transfer the brass to the pin. Should I take back apart and replace all the pin bush...

Re: Need to worry about rod bushings??
They are Wiseco pistons that i get from Fordstrokers.com. Then their only option for pins is their .927 "tool steel option". I have run these before ( I have an almost identical backup motor). for years and have never had these problems. And also on previous freshens. Only thing we changed...

Need to worry about rod bushings??
427 Windsor dart block. Motor made 750hp n/a. Up to 400 shot. Drag week deal in a 70 mustang fastback. Kinda long story, but freshened up by local guy with a recomendation that we run hard coat anodize pistons. (Wiseco). He, I guess tried .0065 piston to wall clearance. Well, made 8 miles on street,...

I have no oil temp gauge but would suspect it's a bit higher with the diaper on it.

They were already in original post. Although I should have added a 4.0 stroke with the 2.750" cleveland main. And 6.2 chevy rods 2.100" journal.

I have the perf rpm on my 70 mach. I would THINK it would be very similar. It fits, but yes I run a pretty big drop base cleaner.

Re: Severe engine overheat = now overheating oil???
Same lifters? What's the bore clearance? Honestly do not know lifter clearance, but yes, the same lifters, so I can rule that out. Almost has to be either the oil pump or a bearing. And since cam bearings have not been checked at all, I think that is where I am at. I will pull the engine out and ap...
