X is typically a little better through the midrange compared to the H. Both typically need to be fairly close to the collector when using headers. Especially the X.
A properly placed X sounds way better too!

Re: Dry Sump Scavenge Plumbing
All Cup and Busch cars used to run them around the front as in the first pic in the 90s and early 2000s. This created excessive scavenge line length packaging problems around the stearing shaft. While it was always good to have the pump mounted on the left side for weight on a circle track car, the ...

Re: Mystery sludge
Could be a high content of moly. Bearings don't appear to have excessive dirt through them.

Re: Dry Sump Pan_Moroso SBC
Looks very similar (basically identical) to the pans we used in the late 90s to mid 2000s in the Nascar Busch series, except they were steel. Busch was limited to a 5 stage pump then, hence only 3 pick ups. We didn't use a screen because they would crack from vibration.

Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell
Possible. It won some events in one of Paul Gentilozzi's cars. It has been fun to disassemble. Would love to know what the build sheet / cam specs look like for one of those of that era. Warp, you ever get to play with these cars? No, never did. But I worked at Roush Mooresville in 97-98, and his d...

Re: NASCAR Truck engies on a road course
In 2004 the cup engines were turning 10k plus. I was doing the Arca deal with a then 17 year old Kyle Busch. We had a flat tappet Cup engine in the car doing development for the Cup series. We raced Pocono with a 4.33 gear and a .91 overdrive turning 10,400 in every gear. That is until we got taken...

Yes. All the engine's used in the truck series, regardless of manufacturer, are LS engines.

Re: Cranking compression results are in
Our Cup engines are 12:1, and run on e15. It is a 98 octane fuel, which is basically pump gas with lock washers! Lol At the Vegas race the 24 car had a garbage bag cover the front of the car. In the new car, this is also the engine air inlet. Inlet temps were 230f, and the water temp climbed to 350f...
