Re: Sbc G1 and G2 trick flow heads

I would believe these could have an advantage with a small bore ! ? The info from those that have ported them seems to point to high flow from slightly smaller ports than the norm IMHO. Maybe I should install my set of these G1's on my proposed ; light duty/mileage master/torquey 307 ? But the adv 6...

Re: Nascar 550 hp limit ??

I believe they'd have to start a Nostalgia Series to get some of us interested again, but that's not likely. As far as local small tracks, I can hear the one we used to race at - it's that close, 1/5th mi oval and figure 8, nearly flat/very slight bank asphalt (Indianapolis Speedrome, and inside cit...

Re: Nascar 550 hp limit ??

^^ You nailed it !!

All the Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers would look better as TransAm cars on road courses, with a few ovals. IMHO

not to get off topic but i would love someone to explain why diesel is .75 to a buck more a gallon than gasoline. is it really all the results of the commodities market? they would sure use a lot less fuel in this country if they would encourage diesel use The claim is that all of the extra refinin...

Re: Let's discuss GM's new RUMORED Big Block reintroduction!

Bigger bore = dirtier emissions, I'm pretty sure they won't go there. How much would bore have to do with it if it's squished into a decent chamber like an LS 3/7 or LT DI head? Just asking since they are kind of going there anyway simply by going so big if rumors are true. Tall deck Ls with a 4.18...

The below is a response cut from the "GM Authority" website. You can tell from the last sentence that this gentleman is not a racer ! Quote: A new comment has been posted on GM Planning New Engine Larger Than New 6.6L V8 L8T by MARK SMYTH member of the SAE since 1988: Dennis, you forget that GM has ...

Re: Let's discuss GM's new RUMORED Big Block reintroduction!

Interesting that GM had developed an 8.0L, (in 2010), that seems to be a tall deck version of the 7400, even the port layout is same. Perhaps a revised version of this, with yet again with more stroke !? (4.27" X 4.25" @ 8.0L ) The rumor/speculation in the above links is 8.8L. The 8.1L Vortec IS a ...

Re: "Of Flowmasters and Super Traps"

Great thread I looked at their website and can't find any specific cfm and hp ratings for their mufflers, just a generic "flow up to 2000cfm/up to 1900hp on their Dynomax Ultra series - claiming the same for 2.5" inlets as larger lol... I wonder if they stopped being specific as I seem to recall 20...

Re: Let's discuss GM's new RUMORED Big Block reintroduction!

Turbos are great for making power and torque on engines but for the manufacturer they add pretty stiff incremental cost increases. They require more expensive exhaust systems and associated hardware. The turbos themselves are also moderately expensive. The turbochargers still tend to start to make ...

Alan R. - I couldn't agree more. I'd think they'd lean towards slightly revised AL heads on their proven 8.1 platform, and the above mentioned improvements.

Re: Flowmaster Outlaw muffler - anti-reversion?

I believe these are the same as the Hendren. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xsi61qy3da7d393/2019-02-17%2011.41.21.jpg?dl=0 Look at the straight-thru pic on Speedway Motors website. doesn't show any anti-reversion rings , or actually any means of sound attenuation. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Dynatech...
