MA-6 Option Corvette Dual Disc Clutch Rebuilders

Tremec doesn't offer a coarse spine TKX so the ultra-rare factory 10 spline dual-disc clutch needs them swapped for fine. The assembly is rivetted together and may have unique discs. Anyone know a good shop in Eastern Canada that could handle the job?

Re: Help with sbc 440 cu in dirt track motor. What cylinder heads

With a restrictive carb a big engine usually doesn't make if any more power than a smaller one, but generally has more torque.

My post around eight back answers that for at least one SBC. I'd like to hear details re any engine that made more power with the four holes down.

Speaking just to the processes: polish first then peen; the latter produces a compressed surface that resists fatigue cracks.

Re: Carburetor spacers

Square bore carb spacers, specific to single-plane manifolds: Four-hole, and open. What are the benefits/drawbacks of each? You did not mention "cloverleaf" spacers or "tapered 4 hole" or 2 plane "equalizers" or thicknesses ... one or more will usually pick-up but, dif...

The preceding post applies, but only if the loss is confined to near/at/over peak power.

The factory C8Rs have been racing (and winning championships) in IMSA's GTLM class* with this engine since January 2020. (*restricted to 500 HP)

How about forming steel tongues to match the edge contour of each port pair and welding them to the header flanges?

Re: Spark Plug Gap

... The posted required firing voltages are based on pure air, not fuel vapor or relative humidity factors. Seems like every engine should have an on-board recording scope. :) In talking to operators of bi-fuel (propane/CNG-gasoline) fleets, they reported that worn spark plugs would misfire thousan...

Re: Vacuum rule carb sizing

All else equal, carb size has no effect on idle vacuum. What does and is frequently overlooked is idle spark advance. Running say a 15°vacuum advance system could add up to 5" Hg., even with a locked-out advance curve, thereby widening the window of possible camshaft parameters.
