Re: 401 sbc ready for the Dyno
Gremlins in every corner nowadays . That’s awesome! The torque numbers are killer. Not that it’s needed, but I wonder if individual cylinder timing / tuning would net much more?
Well done

Re: Long term storage and hot rods...
Electrolysis can be a problem.
Use a waterless coolant such as Evans coolant.
But really there should be no problems using a good glycol based coolant.

Re: Quick Fuel Rich Idle
Hello, my quick fuel 750 double pumper was rich at idle and transition so I installed transfer slot restrictors .081 and moved the idle fuel restrictors to the lower position on the metering block. It came stock with .033 IFR’s and .070 idle air bleeds so I installed .031’s which helped but not eno...

Re: piston ring compressor
I have been using the plier/ratchet type ring compressor for years and it does work well, however i find that you need to be really careful with the oil ring scrapers as they push through into the bore as they can fold up, dependent on the width of the bore chamfer the machinist leaves at the top of...

Just curious, was the Rollmaster set available or did you have it built for the application?

Wow!!! Stump Puller! Given the Engine build, I can only imagine the build quality of the vehicle. I bet it will be fun to drive and be a sight to behold.

Re: BBC Rear Main bearing damage mystery.
Is there any possibility of correlating timing points on the crank under load, front and rear / could crank twist be a possibility causing the edge of the bearing to show signs of wear like that?

Re: Race Engine Technology - Favorite Issues
I'd say each and everyone of them. RET is a fantastic publication, i subscribed for about 3 years up until a couple of years ago. Very expensive reading. I do miss receiving each magazine. I remember one that had the Australian V8 supercar engine, and if i remember correctly that same magazine spoke...

Melting 10550ST SBC Oil pump
Hi all, have done a lot of searches on this oil pump and can find no real world experiences since 2018. I have a current sbc build underway / stroked 383, and am looking for advice. The original engine had a bbc oil pump with a custom oil pan. The intended vehicle it will reside in is a HK Monaro wi...

Re: Knock in bottom end at idle only, help with diagnosis
Hope you secure the problem. Just on topic of noises with a stethoscope, had a Windsor in the shop with a loud clunking noise at idle, not quite like your noise, but close. Turned out that the aftermarket oil pan stated 8L of oil fill. But should have been 6.5L of oil. Turned out that the extra 1.5L...
