Cam? Springs? Or both are cookie cutter?

Think there is some power on the table with this cam?

I plan on talking to Mike Jones for a cam at a later date.
Plan on running mostly just fast bracket in a 2500lb door car. But I still indeed like to go fast.

Re: Longshot at Assessment and Reason for Damage?

A long long time ago I bought a deal like this, very high end engine, "just needs freshened". Ended up having to part it out and didn't come close to breaking even. Every situation is different. We will see. I can buy the engine for cheaper than the new price of the cylinder heads alone.

Cam card for what its worth. This cam was spec'd for Shafiroff. Not sure if this was a super aggressive lobe in order to het hp numbers to sell engines or not.

Re: Longshot at Assessment and Reason for Damage?

This was the cylinder with bad spring taken with a borescope. No carnage. Car has been sitting for 2 to 3 years. Helps out with assessing my gamble.

Re: Longshot at Assessment and Reason for Damage?

I saw the rust in the springs. The car has been sitting for 3 years in his trailer. Manley springs as noted in parts description.

He's gonna try to get clearer pics of notes spring.

Re: Longshot at Assessment and Reason for Damage?

The gentleman who owns the engine bought it from the original owner who had similar issues. That original owner had it repaired and dynoed, then sold to current owner who made just a few passes and had a similar issue. Sorry its so hard to read. This described work was done BEFORE engine had its lat...
