Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

Did you look at his log?

Assuming his map sensor is lying, is a bad idea. MAP I'd MAP period.

OP, beware advice from this with no relevant experience, it's clear as a bell what's going wrong. PM me if you want real help, otherwise enjoy this guy desperately trying to impress you.

Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

The MAP being ambient while throttle is partial, IS NORMAL. This is where I get confused. At WOT the AFRs are right. At partial throttle they are pig rich. This makes sense, given that it sees the same MAP at both part throttle and WOT. Given that map is the same at partial and WOT, I just don't se...

Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

Using TPS as a load reference is a horrible idea in a road race car. Get advice from folks who tune them IMO. Not "you know who" lol

Re: Has anyone ran a 2.3 ford on a Engine Dyno?

7500ish. and lots of compressed atmosphere! We think we're around 1100-1150hp at flywheel now, but this is a few years ago before they made significant improvements in cylinder head. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8GVjf01ed0 Dieselgeek, that is impressive, nice job! thanks, in a 3400l...

Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

This is a pure purpose built tube frame race car. I dont care about idle or off-idle. So given that, what is the downside of switching to a TPS based tune? -Kyle the downside is, load reference is strictly based on throttle position. I haven't used Alpha N on a TEC3 so.... not so sure how well it w...

Do you have MAP accel enrichment enabled?

Re: Engine oil dyno test BPenn & Driven

Wow!!! What a thread! Lol I can say that I have seen 5+hp difference between oils of the same cst rating at a given temp. Happens all the time. So those who believe there is no power in additive packages, are the ones that will never need it....... I've seen same... on max effort combinatio...

Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

you have a 1 second long 10% enrichment. To give you an idea, on cars I tune with ITBs, I set up a .1-.15 second enrichment at about 5%. Your accel enrichments are gigantic IMO.

Re: Engine oil dyno test BPenn & Driven

I'll say it one more time and then I'm done. Your MOTHERFUCKING oil test is bullshit. Your results are bullshit. Your testing procedure is bullshit. Maybe use a bigger font when you're supermad like this. Not sure who you are, but my official opinion is "this was a great simple test to show yo...

LOL. if your information was worth anything, you'd be using it at work and not pushing it on the internet for free. GIGO, we get what we pay for. LOL

Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

I'm using a Penny & Giles hall effect style TPS. I was told that they are more reliable than the conventional ones. Do you guys know if they have good resolution? -Kyle it's only going to output a 0-5v analog signal, the resolution part is based on the ADCs in your ECU. It won't really matter, ...

Re: MAP reading at part throttle identical to WOT

IMO, the MAP sensor is telling you that you're already at atmospheric pressure when you reach the less-than-WOT throttle position. So using a MAP based tuning strategy is good here IMO. It looks in your logs like your rich periods are when you are feathering or slowly increasing throttle (I don't se...

Re: Microsquirt help please!

Combination of wrong parts used and used in the wrong way? Wrong coils? Too much dwell? I think it's wiring/settings. Had the coils paired coming off ignition 1 and 2 outputs. I'm going to use the additional accessory outputs and unpair them. This should work. Make sure you have them in the proper ...
