Re: Blow Thru Carbs

i have done several . built my own carbs. i was driving one of the cars back and forth to work last week. in my worthless opinion if you are putting together a 500-800 hp combo blow thru works fine. any more than that and what it costs to get decent data logging information and street manners is eq...

Re: Blow Thru Carbs

The trick with a street blow thru is getting the PV calibration right. It is a bit tricky, you need a properly built carb, an O2 sensor, and time to make final tuning yourself. It needs adjustable restrictions to the PV cavity from both the boost side and the vacuum side to balance where it opens. ...

Blow Thru Carbs

What is the story on these carbs and there performance. I have a 565 Chevy that I want to use with a D-3 Procharger on the street. I do understand carberators well but I just didnt want to spend all the money to buy one of these carbs only to find out they didnt work well at all. Thanks!

O-ring heads ! Cummins 12V

It use to be that when I O-ringed a motor for a power adder I put the ring in the block and a copper gasket with a receiver groove in the head. Now it seems the norm is to Oring the block and use a stock style gasket on gas motors . Is that effective? Now I have been working on a 12V cummins and it ...

Re: Looking for advice on Brodix 11x SP vs AFR 227 on 388sbc

I believe with that combo you could be running low 6 sec runs! Also make sure your not running out of fuel( weak pump flow) I would take the power valve out of the front and try 88 square jets. That weight with the gears and converter you should be flying. It may be the problem didnt get fixed with ...

Re: LS3 Valve Size

Small bore, Big Valve, No Lift, sounds like GM understands, figured out that the curtain area is important for a low RPM engine. Well we will see what happens with a smaller, faster, more efficient window, and throat in that same RPM range. Should be interesting. So your saying maybe it should have...

Think I would use the SHP before that. I will just stick with Dart, or until they quit.

Re: Best Induction

I think that its a better risk to go conservative like the 4150 carb and the strip dominator. Even if the carb is the 1050 4150stye carb. That combo and that big duration cam will run awesome. The lobe sep at 108 isnt any problem for a 434. You may pick up a tenth with the dominator over the other s...

Re: Best Induction

I think with your cam and heads the 950 and 4150 super vic would be hard to beat for overall performance. If you are going to run bigger duration cam and a 5500 stall converter that 1050 and 4500 intake will be a plus. 434 can take all a 23 degree head can give. It takes a special 23 deg head to pro...

Re: 565 BBC gains from another camshaft ?

I think the heads and the cam are the choke point in this combo, but it runs good in the heavy car because it isnt overkill for 9.5 compression. If you just change the cam only to 20 degrees more duration I believe it would hurt it so that it wouldnt run good anywhere, no matter what the other numbe...

Re: 565 BBC gains from another camshaft ?

I agree completely with porting the heads. That can make a huge difference. If you then put a cam in it with 260s and 270s @ .050 and around 700 lift on a 110 that thing will be a different engine. I would back off the intake to the Victor (not the super Vic and try to push the limit on the compress...

cspeier wrote:I think it all depends on how much power your trying to make. You can make 700+ with the right 227cc head on a 406.

Also depends on what RPM your wanting.

Re: 598 street engine

RHS dont hve any flow numbers posted. These are the pro elite series 376 cc head. The intake and exhaust runner and the combustion chamber are CNC ported. I have a solid roller that is 708 708 and 277 and 285 @.050 on a 110. It is one of Brookshires cams that he says is easy on parts. Is that LS to ...

Re: 598 street engine

I have the heads already, I guess the cam is the place a street motor would need to be a little more conservative so it can live without 275lbs on the seat and 650 over the nose. I was hoping that the 114 LS on the cam would help it flatten out the torque curve and not have this thing fall on its fa...
