Re: PROTOPLINE BBC HEADS INFO
Based on the part number breakdowns in the linked catalog and a little creative thinking this is how the part number breaks down. 2= cast iron 26= valve angle 19= 119 chambers 0= as cast chamber 0= as cast bowl 0= as cast port 502= designation they gave to stock replacement heads based on their comm...

Goodson shows they have the P281 in stock but I'll assume having 1 without the other isn't going to be useful to you at this moment.

Re: How to measure a hydraulic cam in a 350 while the engine is assembled?
Take the rockers off and put the indicator tip on the pushrod tip being careful to keep the pushrod and indicator inline and straight. Zero the indicator on the basecircle of the cam and turn engine over to read max lobe lift. Multiply this by rocker ratio and you'll have your valve lift. Not sure i...

Re: cutting valve reliefs in pistons
Not sure if this will help you or not but here are pictures Of a wiseco pro tru 440 piston I have in the shop. The large scale with the groove is on piston center. The valve relief starts about .060 off of the centerline Shown by the thinner scale. The wiseco paperwork states the valve relief's are ...

Re: 350" oldsmobile
If it's un-grooved it definitely doesn't go in the block saddle. Has to be cap for sure. I just did a 455 olds and if it's the same as a 350 olds it goes into #1 main cap if I recall correctly. On the 455 the tang is different and it will only fit in this position. Hopefully this helps but I've neve...

Re: Rear bearing misalignment
Why the block and not the bearing? If it's a stock type engine you're never going to see again you can modify the bearing but if it's an engine that you're going to see again and again for freshen up's it's smarter to modify the block as it will save you time during each future freshen up. If it's ...
