Re: rant: why do people call iron heads steel heads?
On that subject, aren't "billets" actually a casting? So, if true, doesn't a billet crank start from a casting? No. Billets are machined from a solid chunk of material. Yes, but do they not start as a casting? [poured as molten metal into a mold of some sort. Like a "forged" pis...

Re: Brodix Dragon Slayer 320 too small for a street 572?
What kind of power numbers were you looking for from this 572? rustbucket79, It will not see a dyno, but I don't really have numbers goals anyway. That said, a 10.99 time slip would be great. Fwiw, it went 12.28 at 108 with a mild 5800 rpm 241* at .050" hyd roller 454 +.030" with 2.06 val...

Re: Brodix Dragon Slayer 320 too small for a street 572?
Thanks, Monza.
I wonder how much I'll give up with what I have? i planned to run solids on the hyd lobe, lashed tight.
Howards 247/255 at .050", .640" with 1.7-1, 108* LSA ' hyd roller. Could run 1.8s on the intake for .678".

Re: Brodix Dragon Slayer 320 too small for a street 572?
They’ll be just fine for the application. People get too caught up on absolute power numbers rather than the proper power curve. We did a refresh on a 502/502 GM crate for a jet boat, upgrading it to a 540. Same oval ports, same air gap intake, pump gas application. Mid 500’s for HP, but more impor...

Re: Brodix Dragon Slayer 320 too small for a street 572?
Thanks, Monza. How much cam and spring did you run? Dave For what it’s worth i ran a box stock old Dart pro1 325cc flowing similar numbers as the DS320 on a 9.2:1 565 street engine. Tight converter etc. street/strip machine. It was a solid roller engine that was shifted around 6300-6500 rpm’s and ra...

Thanks, Gents.
I would not care if it wanted to be shifted at 5800, although 6200 would be nice.
Afaik, some chamber work would pick up the as cast heads' flow 8-12 cfm in the .300" - .500" lift ranges.

Link to info on the heads. The 320s impress me more than the 365s, but ...

Brodix Dragon Slayer 320 too small for a street 572?
Hello All, I have everything for a 572 shortblock, and I need to choose heads. 90% street use, 4000lb truck, 4.10s, 3000 stall. CR would be a little over 10-1 with a 120cc chamber. I have a Howards 247/255 at .050", .640", 108* LSA ' hyd roller. I have an old C454 and an rpm air gap to cho...

Re: BBC dual 4 Barrel dual plane intake vs a Victor JR>
There is no law saying you could not try the 2x Qjets inline on spreadbore carb adapters on that bbc dual quad manifold. The early pre-1975 era chevy 4MV (right angle fuel inlet) Q-Jet should fit. no rules... Will not fit, unless rear one was turned 180. I agree w/you on that causing secondary fuel...
