Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

EV's have been around since the 1830's same issue then as now,,range and not practical. but of course the government could make it practical, but you would think after almost 200 years they would have got the thing figured out. Elon Musk made them cool again.....its a status symbol to own one. very ...

Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

And why couldn't you make a living from EV's? Look at the bigger picture. Right now you're steeped in the art of enhancing combustion. EV's are far from perfect out of the box. Take my humble Volt, for example. 149 hp and 271 ft/lbs. GM got the bright idea of using the same Voltec powertrain in the...

Re: Who here actually drives an EV/HYBRID?

The internet is full of EV "channels" but it doesn't need to be "US vs THEM". There are a lot of racers, tuners etc who are interested in where EV tech is going and want to discuss it with like minded folk. These people have "done it right" they "have their own ch...

Same here, cheap tranny fluid I just dip the burr in every once in a while, it coats the whole port right away, which helps as you move along.

Re: Future of head porting

I only seen one person mention iron heads and how hard it is to find someone who will do them. That’s my bread and butter, always has been. I’m usually one year backed up just on iron head work. Shops that are strictly head shops, just don’t want to deal with older iron heads anymore. I don’t blame ...

Re: Big Issues with Cylinder Pressure (DCR)

Are you sticking with this , that it’s 1 full point ? Others here have squashed your theory...would it still be 1 full point if it was an aluminum rod engine compared to steel,, all else being equal? This is not a aluminum rod deal. Nobody uses aluminum rods on a street or street strip motor.. Keep...

I don't want to go into a rant. I don't trust 'many almost any' media sources of information. I follow Dr Mercola and his web sight for true and unbiased covid reporting. jmo I am 78 years old and I said I am considering taking the vaccine. My wife and 3 adult sons will have to make their own decis...

Re: Simple idea for AR chamber off header collector

In the op’s drawing of his tapered AR, it’s not as effective as a small bullet style AR...but it’s in the right direction to add power. On the dyno anyway Do not taper your exit pipe , make it a blunt cut at 3/4 of the way into the bullet outer diameter. take a look at the majorty of winning engine ...

Re: Big Issues with Cylinder Pressure (DCR)

The crank rod piston is included in the net difference. Rotating assembly Stretch caused by rpm is not. Its the same on both motors. Aluminum block head engines are typically built with 1 whole CR increase to make same power as a identical cast iron engine does. The difference in net all in block g...

Re: Big Issues with Cylinder Pressure (DCR)

When the block heats up it grows taller. The compression the ratio drops because the block grows taller more than the rotating assembly does (aluminum vs iron) Same as the net valve lash grows larger as a aluminum block heats up on a pushrod engine.. .008" to .012" is typical on a aluminu...
