Re: Dart SHP Block Questions

Seems like it would be too much oil once up to operating temperature. Genuinely curious, does the timing chain really need that much oil in an endurance/street application? Hi Bill: FWIW, a closer look at OE L31 350 / L30 305 blocks' Front oil gallery with OE pressed-in cup plugs ... OE drilled fro...

Re: G2 SBC 3 pc. PTFE Rear Main Seal (or Tritec T-15635-DL-SS)

What is slightly chamfer ? How slight? If you check the seal surface area at the block - cap parting line, they are always sharp from align boring - honing. That sharp edge will grab the Orings and either cut, split or distort them to where it stretches the part in the block leaving a majority on t...

Make sure you chamfer the block - cap slightly so the o rings won't get damaged when tightening
the cap down.
Install the seal dry.

Take a .030 - .060 spring shim that fits both the retainer and ht. mic., (id fits retainer - od fits mic)
install the shim between the 2 of them,
add thickness of shim to whatever the mic records

Re: Gain from lifter bore blueprinting?

I'm sure it varies from block to block and manufacturer to manufacturer, but does anyone have any data on what type of gains have been achieved by blueprinting lifter bore locations? Thanks, Joel My understanding is there are significant gains by doing so on Super Stock Hemi engines. Chrys. blocks ...
