Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell

Edelbrock Super Victor 2970, ported at Chopper Air Port. This one is for 400+ cubic inches, running a set of AFR 220s (2.5 sq. in. MCSA, ported by Weingartner), pushing 8000 RPM with 450-500 HP of nitrous... IMG_9610.JPG IMG_9635.JPG IMG_9690.JPG IMG_9691.JPG IMG_9694.JPG IMG_9695.JPG IMG_9702.JPG ...

Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell

...... Intake porting doesn’t pick up near as much as you would think. After doing all the intake testing I have done it really only gains a lot(more than 30) on high horsepower engines, over 900hp. This excludes really crappy manifolds. Port alignment makes more of a power difference than porting ...

Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell

How would you know? How much data do you have from porting intakes, heads and building engines? Your finish work looks nice, but 90 percent of what you are doing is cosmetic and doesn't contribute to overall power gain. If you spend more than 6 hours on an intake, you're using the wrong intake. Tha...

Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell

That dart manifold if for raised runner heads,I just put on my low port stuff for a look. I wanted to hear peoples opinions on the longer runner # 2/4. 5/7. I think wilson had that cast into the manifold to try and offset cylinder robbing due to firing order. It’s not what you think. Having all run...

Re: That's one way to recruit new ST members

I don’t know how he has more subscribers and views than I do. I do actual dyno tests on my own engine not an engine someone else built and dynod. YouTube still to this day makes little sense to me. If you are girl views if you ramble views. Actually useful stuff nothing. Life is good but weird.

Promaxx 290 and 454o intake 41hp up over rr294 and track warrior intake.
Then whats the point of your post?
You’re right no point in telling what did better. I give up watch or don’t watch. I’m done posting.

BBC 496 dyno mule testing

I thought I would let you guys know we are testing today. A bunch of heads and manifolds.

So far rr294 with performer rpm air gap and weiand track warrior.

Track warrior more power and torque.

Re: CFD/CAD/Thread

Why not just do a cfd run of exactly what he sent. Then do what you did to see what the difference was. It seems like you are just creating the port in the computer and ignoring what he did. Am I missing something? I am curious why you think I am ignoring the scanned data. I have spent hours workin...

Re: Intake Manifold testing

Just dug out my old Sept. 2008 Chevy Hi performance Mag with their 16 manifold test. The Brodix HV1016 of the 6 modern dual planes tested had low lowest avg. hp and torque. Not by much only 2-3 ft-lb of torque and 2-3 hp less than most others the RPM air gap was 7ft-lb and 6 hp better average. Inte...

Re: Intake Manifold testing

I’m going to disappoint some of you. The two barrel decided to call in sick today and the cast iron bow tie intake wouldn’t seal. If ups doesn’t show up then no testing on the afr4810.

There is a new number 1 though.

Re: Intake Manifold testing

Unless I missed something. The engine was around 20hp from repeating itself from the last dyno session....in the same form as it was in. Which would kill any thoughts of what changes to the manifolds did from the previous session,,, But maybe i tuned out too early, because as soon as i gathered tha...
