Re: flywheel to balancer weight proportion- inline 6

Harry, There is a guy in Washington state I have used with success on renewing the rubber. You have to plan ahead as he takes summers off and ever other month off. But the couple I have had done have came back nice. Also your chain drive to the cam right? This is another thing that I think we strugg...

Re: flywheel to balancer weight proportion- inline 6

When I was messing with large cubic inch 6 cylinder pulling engines, mind you this is all over 5" stroke stuff I was using the biggest balancer ATI had. I believe that is 8 1/4", I also ran everything as tight to the cover as I could both the balancer and flywheel. The flywheel and clutch seemed to ...

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Oh can some one measure a 292 on how long the exhaust bolts are front to back? And runner center lines for #1 to #2-3 ports? Thanks again, Scott Nice looking pistons, Scott! Should work well for you. I like one off stuff such as this. Much more interesting than the cookie cutter small block Chevy b...

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Harry and Tony, Thank you so much for the information. Really appreciate all the insight. I am also dimpling the intake valves figure it will react well to the carburetor and low lift flow. The engine in current state really only likes 20 degrees of timing max. I run plug adapters to run a modern 14...

Re: Did Penn Grade 1 change their formula?

Have you ever oil sampled? My lab has a virgin oil sample of my oil that I paid for so I would be sending a sample in if I were you to compare. Pretty cheap and it really tells the truth.

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Yes I am supposed to stick with a stock manifold, I may raise some eye brows if it has a fabricated header. A modified chevy iron manifold I think I may be able to get away with. Also the reason I wanted to modify the top of this manifold is it is not easily seen it is above the sheet metal line, th...

Re: 20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Harry, Thank you for the reply. It is actually a 2 flange and that is a interesting idea of adding a equal exit that Dave had suggested in the previous post. I am just really wondering if its worth all the trouble? But it really makes sense if I'm going through any changes to go this route. This is ...

What is keeping you from moving the new outlet in the picture further left?
I guess the convenience of milling that pad flat and utalizing the existing 4 holes. What were you thinking? A exit more between the left 2 ports?

Thanks,
Scott

20th century manifold reconfigured for 21st century

Looking for some opinions on this reconfiguration on this manifold for this 6 cylinder. Trying to build a farm tractor that runs better then factory, that will pull occasionally and can still be used in the field for hours on end. I already have redid the piston design for quench, using LSX piston r...

Re: Carb experts...advice? HELP..

Call up Pro Systems! It may like a SV1! They suggested CNC-BILLET VENOM-VX carb. 1040-1050 cfm With their 4500 metering blocks....bigger passages? Wasn’t sure what to make of that.. Not sure but been there done that...I did what you did and screwed around on a dyno with a carb that was messed up an...
