Re: I have a Ford MS smog/vacuum pump question
I have it figured out as I used my CraftsMan drill press motor & belt to power/rotate pump. Large hole is side pulls air into pump from engine crankcase/valvecovers and will have an adjustable vacuum break and exhales through the smaller hole at rear of pump which will go to breather tank.

I have a Ford MS smog/vacuum pump question
I don't know which is suction/into pump and which is outflow. It has a large 1" port and a smaller 3/4" one which I think goes to puke tank?? A picture I can't copy at the moment.

Re: Pro systems carburetor
I needed a new carb for son's 412W on a new build for drag racing. Sent specs on engine/answered all questions of him and he sent an Holley 1100 cfm Dominator carb w/3 systems air bleeds. 2 system would have been adequate as mid range made carb way too rich so I removed center air bleed. Jetted down...

Re: Alignment Specs
I jack up front of car 1 to 2 inches over stationary ride height for race height. I set camber at 0*, caster +5* and 1/16-1/8" toe in on our 64/65 Falcons.

Re: Air Die Grinder Tricks
I use air die grinders and made an adjustable slowness using a painting regulator w/gauge to vary speed and a valve to use it or not. Leave long lever main line off and open small lever to get slowness, when finished turn it off and open large full pressure valve.

Re: Any Way To Get This Exhaust Down To 95 Decibels Or Lower Without Destroying Good Flow?
Dave, I don't care if there is a flow loss as car runs faster than I intended it to and noise level is very tolerable.
My car went from 98 down to 85 DBA and it didn't run any different, slower or faster.

Re: Any Way To Get This Exhaust Down To 95 Decibels Or Lower Without Destroying Good Flow?
Just to give you an idea. I have made 2 sets of collector mufflers/noise suppressors for our drag race cars. On my old headers 7/8" tube to collector which is 3" DB A scale 96 or 98, new ones are 3 step 1-5/8, 1-3/4, 1-7/8 into 3" collector DB A scale 85. Headers made for sons 412W ar...

Re: Melonized Cast Iron distributor gears
I know about the depth and check it religiously. Back in the 70's?? Arlen Fadely built a Boss 302 for a Maverick. If I remember they h.ad that problem and caused problems I believe?? This is a FoMoCo hyd roller cam block, no idea of year. What I am questioning is if any gear is Melonized why the bas...

Re: Melonized Cast Iron distributor gears
I have a friend installing a Sniper f.i. on 8.2 SBF with dist that has a melonized cast iron gear.
