Re: sbc 18 degree trick flow heads
Hello Gents
I know this is an Old tread, but I believe Its a good place to ask, I'd like to know If is possible to use a regular SBC intake bolted with angled plates with these Heads, like a Victor Ram.

Re: valve spring debate: conical vs std duals vs beehives
If it’s .730” gross lift I would just use the AFR 8000 springs that come in the heads. Assuming it’s not that radical camshaft based on the fact it’s a street/strip deal. You have light valves to control and that helps. A titanium or tool steel retainer is a plus. I measured a set of AFR 8000 sprin...

Re: valve spring debate: conical vs std duals vs beehives
Yes I agree about the Heads, even with some porting they Will not pk at 7500. This engine might be shifted at 7 grand but may rpm 7500 maximum at the stripe only. Another point is, due costs (imported parts are stupid expensive here in Brazil), this engine will be equiped with good 1.6 7/16" p...

Re: valve spring debate: conical vs std duals vs beehives
Conical duals - Over .800" lift - Drag Week build https://i.imgur.com/ZhnWUvFl.jpg How much less pressure these springs allow to control the valves in relation to std duals, if any? Im guessing the improvement in valve control due its design might be a little easier on the valvetrain parts, me...

Re: valve spring debate: conical vs std duals vs beehives
To be more exact , I'm quoting and selecting parts for a 434" build for a customer. This engine wont be running lots of miles but need to be dead realiable. Thats why I tought the bushed lifters were a good idea. Heads probably will be the afr 227 or 235s, springs installed height is about 1.9&...

valve spring debate: conical vs std duals vs beehives
Hello Gents I've been reading about the pros and cons about each valve spring type and I have some doubts. Say for a tipical hot street/strip small block with a MR cam around .730 lift, with healthy duration, paired with bushed MR lifters, 7500 max RPM, SS valves. Id like to know what spring type an...

Re: E85 Safe/Max Dynamic Comp Ratio
I don't think cranking compression tells you much. Maybe if you use same starter speed such as a Dyno. I have ran 88 pump piss at 215 lbs cranking which most people say is a no no. And we have ran e85 pump at 275 lbs cranking. This was checked on same Dyno with good battery support and a good start...

Re: E85 Safe/Max Dynamic Comp Ratio
I tend to agree and hence my question. I can get the compression down easily to 13:1 with a .060 gasket leaving me with approx .072 quench. I think the 20cc dish in the piston leaves an approx .300 wide quench for less than half the circumference. Will that small area of .072 quench likely cause an...

Re: spark plug heat range help
honestly i'm clueless about this subject. I've been using NGK #7 spark plugs in my NA 555 BBC for like 5 years. A friend suggested i should be using a hotter plug. I don't even know which way is hotter. I went and bought a set of #8 plugs but they look exactly the same. Can someone educate me on th...

195 v 215 heads. Promaxx Project X 215cc Dyno Test Results.mp4_snapshot_10.37.730.jpg Anybody disagree that engine was begging for air with the 195cc heads? LOL Cool tests! Cool test indeed and and nice question but can you elaborate; By begging for air, do you mean flow numbers or something else? ...
