Re: BBC connecting rods

11 grams is typical for thumb type rod. But I'd be more worried about the small end press myself. It seems shops that do a 180.00 balance job are concerned with the "spread" I say tool up, and charge more and don't worry about the "spread".

Vortec Pro they are A16-75

Int valve size is 2.065
5.230. oAL

Ex valve 1.720
5.360. oAL

Exhaust springs have a rotator on the bottom and intake have none
Ok.......you will cut the intake pocket .070 and use a .050 keeper, simple.

Re: 781 bb Chevy heads can I cut spring seat?

Too Pro Power: Are you aware 781 head castings, depending on the year have different spring pocket depths? I would guess the OP has 1975 or newer castings. If the OP wants to post what year castings he has I will tell the OP exactly how far he can cut the intake spring seat pockets.

I DO NOT like the 206 casting. A 702 casting is a MUCH better head.

Your rectangular port heads and that Cam are a terrible mismatch!

Re: Hyd Roller SBC bracket drag car

He races at Woodburn in Oregon. No runs yet this year, so the goal now is to give everything a good set up and then report back to the forum on current numbers. The Dart Iron Eagle (original 20-year old design) were right out of the box, no porting or massaging. He moved from a traditional traction...

Most of the guys use a taller 28-29" 9" slick and 5:xx gearing.
Its the only way to get a PG to work..
Great with th350
Look at a similar nhra/ihra stock eliminator Nova or Camaro.
We are in agreement! 30x9 radial with 5.38. Woodburn is a fast track. 119 MPH nets me 10.80s.

Re: Hyd Roller SBC bracket drag car

So, is this to say that a 3650 lbs race weight that traps 108 MPH is making ~360 RWHP? (Based on one of several online calculators I've come across) I get 355.5 net rwhp. if the true weight is #3650 and you held your foot in it . Again if you don't know the true weight use weight to power Ratio. So...

Re: Hyd Roller SBC bracket drag car

Don't need a chassis dyno to measure net true RWHP when you got a car (known weight w/driver and s 1/4 mi drag strip. . If you know the weather conditions of the drag test session you can correct to standard air and sea level from the actual test data .. The actual test data is the true car power t...

Re: Hyd Roller SBC bracket drag car

Ok so lets say you go 142 MPH @ 3600 how much HP @ the wheel is this? Do you dyno test? Heres a better example: I have a truck which runs 101 MPH in 1320, it weighs 4200 pounds, as you probably know I dyno test @ 6400 feet elevation, my truck engine made 329 observed in the room uncorrected HP dyno...
