Re: 351C 2V Opinions / Advice please

I built a 393 Cleveland with open chamber 2v heads a couple of years ago. Used a small Crane flat tappet cam , airgap intake and 750 carb but probably could have used something smaller like a 600 vs.
No issues with detonation. I think that’s an old wives tale with open chambered heads.

The T&D catalog has listed info on a lot rocker pivot lengths. In there both BBC and BBF are listed at 1.650"
Those rockers don’t reflect the factory numbers on Fords.

Re: BBF Rocker Pivot Length Help

Personally I have never been able to get the geometry “perfect “ when using scorpion rockers on Cleveland’s. I know the rockers are the same for a Cleveland and the BBF so I would imagine the same would be true. You can fudge the geometry somewhat by altering the pushrod length but it’s just not rig...

We see the world differently, I don't view TikTok. Yes we do, you answered a question I never asked you! And you know the actual term for TikTok... Thanks. Knight can and will answer for his self. Or at least he always has. Damn, who shat in your cornflakes? Was looking for options I hadn't thought...

Re: 347 Street Cam

Was the engine ever dynoed?

I’ve done a bunch of 347’s and almost always use airgap style intakes . One I did with an OTS hydraulic roller went 462 hp recently. That one had a larger cam than I would typically use ( low 240’s @50)

Re: Roller rockers, difference between brands?

I have checked 9 different brand rocker arms for a big block Ford & Cleveland engines. Only three give near the same geometry. Yes, I’ve found the same. They’re more than likely based on BBC rockers. The scorpions and the comp 1830’s are pretty bad. But I have a set of procomp rockers sitting h...

Re: Roller rockers, difference between brands?

Funny you mention comp cams rockers. Just used a set of their premium 1830-16 rockers on a Cleveland. Geometry with those things was awful. Im willing to bet they’re not a dedicated cleveland rocker at all. Should have stuck to Yella Terra rockers. Comp engines down in Melb use them all the time, n...

Re: Roller rockers, difference between brands?

Smokie, I have had a few times over the years where a customer has brought me rocker arms and I simply could not get the geometry right. Every time the rockers were "no-name" and every time I have swapped them to Comp Cams and everything fell right into place. Any chance somebody you know...

Re: Hydraulic Roller with Higher Rocker ratio

Might be worth having a go and see what the outcome is. Most ratio I’ve ever run on a Windsor combo was 1.7 . Cam was a custom Crow billet roller with 226/232@50 and ended up with .580 lift. 26925-16 comp springs and matching LS style hardware. Ran real nice. I think the key to success with any hydr...

Re: Has a Dependable SBC flat tappet lifter been located ?

Mike, since we're here & talking about lifters: My go to hyd roller lifter is a memory (crane), how do the hylift Johnson lifters compare? They're significantly cheaper than the crane were, but more than the crappy morels everyone over here sells. The morels fall flat on their face at 5800-6200...

Overpriced garbage.
By the time you fix them you’ll have more in them than a decent set of CHI’s.

Re: Any Big Block Mopar guys here ? Need head advice

Have you seen the Speedmaster heads for the 351 Cleveland? (Presumably COVID) Supply issues has caused us to have the customer order a set of their heads for a 393 Cleveland build and I was curious what they looked like. Edelbrock is months away with their factory move so this is the logical choice ...
