Re: Adjusting installed centerline
I think if it were me I'd retard it 2° with the gear and run it. It's an LS going into a Nissan. I don't think torque will be negatively affected and in fact it might help the car's ability to get moving.

Re: Compression effects airflow?
If the ex valve were not still open near TDC like it does on something like an air compressor it would make a significant difference. While the ex valve is open, CR won't make much difference. I'm involved in the discussion with RAMM. I happen to share this idea. Technically, if the exh is working ...

Questions on propane fueled engines
I'm just trying to get a better hold on how these work and how to take advantage of the fuel type. So far, I know it has less btus by weight, equivolent octane is something like 104, they like cooler thermostats, and on cams you want a wide LSA and exhaust lobe timing is crutial. So what else? Is th...

If they want to make the whole thing relevent and viable again, they need to make some big changes. The first thing they need to do is put a knock sensor on every engine, and deduct points for every knock count. The next thing they need to do is stop allowing stupid crap like half inch thick head g...

Well, I cant do the work the masters here do. I'm not equipped or do it for a living. But if you want and need basics, go take a couple physics classes at your local community college. What make heads work, makes everything else work. If you know the theory, it applies to everything you do. You may ...

Not entirely true anymore...Somebody has a kit to make an LA version Hemi. Using brandy new hemi head castings just for them. Seems like a big waste of effort to me, but somebody must think different. There were pics and a link I think from the last SEMA show with them. Looked too much like a 392 fo...

Quench "flame channels" in piston vs. head quench
So I've read some articles, and seen the posts here regarding cutting the hcannels radiating out from the plug area thru the head's quench area. I'm currently playing with (still in mockup and fitting actually) on a BB Mopar 4.38 bore engine, uzing quench dome pistons and opwn chamber heads. These h...
