I have an MSD coil model 8207 SS series. When I test it with my ohm meter I do not get the factory specs of: .355 ohms for primary, 4.40k ohms for secondary. I like the last recommendation, installed on a 102-103... You don't have a ton of compression but you do have the gear and converter to make it work. Trmnatr, what springs are you getting away with on that cam and steel valve? OP could have 954 springs which would put him 220/540 at best with steel...

max 630 and are set at 1.85 install height, 220 lbs seat.

My bad.....a little surprised with the 850 or better custom carb but checked where you are coming from..... "A key to making the large carb work on the small-displacement engine without bogging is the secondary linkage. Those familiar with Holleys will notice the huge linkage for the secondarie...
