Re: energy suspension motor mounts

That is true...China can make things as cheap as you wish...just the quality will reflect your choice.
"There is no product or service that cannot be made cheaper and worse."
The globalist mantra...

Re: Opinions on Elgin HPV valves

... I have yet to see a SINGLE Chinese company selling speed equipment, I can't think of ONE. The Chinese manufacture stuff to order, for a price. They leave the Americans to do the marketing. I think the language is a big barrier. https://www.google.com.hk/search?safe=strict&hl=zh-CN&source=hp&ei=...

Re: Opinions on Elgin HPV valves

Anyone have any comments on the actual quality of these valves to add? "Made in China" really isn't very useful in this day and age. I do not mind quality-made parts from wherever. I don't especially like a company deliberately trading on "made-in-the-USA" being conflated with "made-in-the-USA qual...

Re: Opinions on Elgin HPV valves

I have a set of 2.02's and 1.60s here for my 327, I haven't even LOOKED to see where they are from, honestly I don't care. I care whether they are any good or not, and that has little to do with where they are made, it has a hell of a lot MORE to do with the attitude of the AMERICAN corporation that...

Re: boat motor block craced just below the heads on both sid

I replace aprox 10 to 15 marine engines a year, just from new boat owners, that have never been told that yes you have to winterize your boat. then there are the guys that do drain there blocks but not all the water comes out so they reinstall the block drain plug & it cracks during winter Before i...

Re: SBC stock valve spring installed height??

I always pull springs with flat dampeners apart and de-burr the dampeners before I run them, they can be a bit raggedy-ass straight out of the package. Tedious? Well yes...so is changing valve springs with broken dampeners... :D

Re: How to sleeve a 350 the right way?

How strict is your customs enforcement on forms designating gifts? If we tied a yellow ribbon on it, would they believe a short block was a gift? Our customs are nuts. Even if you send a true gift like a Tshirt or decals, they will tax that. #-o Thats againt our own laws!!! A while back a gu...

Re: KB Claimer pistons

Well that's an easy one. It's called a budget. For people that don't make buttloads of money, it's easier to spread purchases out than make 1 big one. It's more financially feasible for them to put out a little now for an decent engine and a little later if it has issues. That also means they get t...

Re: What works with a corvair engine

Both have completely missed the gist of the OP's question. He wants to KEEP the corvair engine and add a bellhousing to the back so he can mate it with a RWD trans, not the other way round.

Re: How to sleeve a 350 the right way?

I know its not number matching but Summit sells a 350-4 bolt main block 40 over for $739.00 Remanufactured. But how bad would the shipping be? Only to you get an idea, lets say the shipment would cost $400 by ship. So, 1139 USD, then add 77% taxes we pay here,(yes the stupid high taxes are on total...

Re: can a boost control solenoid be triggered with a Hobbs switch

http://www.texasindustrialelectric.com/honeywell_pressure_switches.asp --this link lists all of the Honeywell pressure switches which are similar to Hobbs switches---being able to handle 8 amps at 12vdc ---if your solenoid pulls anywhere close to that 8 amps with boost pressure applied to the solen...

can a boost control solenoid be triggered with a Hobbs switch

Looking for confirmation. I am assuming there is no reason why a boost control solenoid can't be turned on and off by a hobbs switch?

Re: Probably too pedestrian 283 SBC top end

8 years! Wow! The kid in question is now married, and has a kid in kindergarten. The 283 ended up with the 113 vette heads, a GM composite gasket for the 305 (.026"?) a Performer RPM and a Holley 650 vac sec. Distributor for awhile was a old fashioned dual point setup, later he fitted it with a Cra...
