Re: Intake Manifold Porting Show ‘n Tell

There is a good thing with constant taper and that is that it keeps the boundary layer thinner. But there is a bad thing too. The reflections för stuffing air into the engine are used before they are needed. And you will never be able to pull a really deep depression before maximum piston velocity....

Re: How will you go faster?

One of the things I was trying to point out, is that one of the better ways, to increase speed and decrease et, is work on the tune to keep the lose of tq to a min in at least your rpm drop between shifts. That can be done with CR, carb and cam selection, with that, you increase the average tq in t...

Re: radius seats on intake

It is more critical with alcohol fuels than with gasoline but I would never use a radius seat on the intake.

Re: radius seats on intake

I made a turbo 2.3 liter Volvo engine for a road racing Volvo. It won 2 classes in 2020 and then their dyno guy called me next year. He had tested the engine I built to 675 hp and it was torque limited to 750Nm:s to save the block at 1,966 bars of boost. A little under 3 bars absolute. 2021 the engi...

Re: Bill Jenkins , Larry Meaux and header wisdom.

I only used 44 and 48 pipes no difference.
Smaller wasn´t available.
44mm is the size of the exhaust valve or smaller as it is shaped square to fit the port if you look at ID.

If you clean it out with gasoline if the car or whatever is going to stand unused for a while.

Re: E-85 and Bill Gates

It is extremely corrosive. None of my cars with E5 in them will start again after a few years.
It also corrodes the cylinder while standing.
All fuels with oxygen in them has this problem.
It is possible to make gasoline from alcohols.
