Re: Hydraulic roller lifters for Pontiac... Hydraulic Cartridge Technology
So looks like they say to set them with .100" of preload? Can someone post up the instructions? I just read the instructions and it basically says 3/4 to 1 turn preload is recommended. In one section it says 3/4 turn for 7/16 studs to 1 turn for 3/8 studs but it does not seem to be very picky....

Re: Hydraulic roller lifters for Pontiac... Hydraulic Cartridge Technology
I am putting together an Olds right now and my customer supplied these lifters. I started checking pushrod lengths and found that the pushrods were actually hitting the retaining clips that hold the cartridge in. I called Comp and the guy told me that it was an issue with the early versions. Then it...

Re: Pontiac 400 Cam Bearing Issue
Pretty sure that is normal for Pontiacs. I think there is a little slot that lets oil feed out to the back of the timing gear. If you put the bearing in all the way to the front you will cover that slot. I have one here and even though I already have the cam bearings out you can see where the origin...

Re: Kwik Way LMF 6469 Crankshaft Polisher
I use my polisher several times a week, every week. Not always on crankshafts but it does get used. Don't know exactly which one you have but would venture to say it is worth doing something with. What size belts does it use ? Picture ?

Re: windsor torino build ideas?
wallet is decent sized,I'm thinking he will never turn it over 4000 to 5000 rpm and to be honest stock it is rated at 138hp Thats net HP. Probably around 200 (?) dyno if I had to guess. Put a set of flat top pistons in it to get the compression up and a mild cam and 300 should be easy. Add a decent...

Re: How can I get this to seal?
The carb base is flat. The manifold flange is flat except for that eroded area on the left side. I'm going to try the $10 solution first (RTV). Personally I would use JB Weld or some other epoxy. Put on a thin layer with a plastic spatula and let it set up then use a nice flat file and go over it. ...

I would look through a few cam catalogs online and find cams similar to that and see what they are recommending.

Re: SBC oversize cam bearings
I found ACL Camshaft Bearings Set Chev. V8, 305-350-400, STD 5C004BS that are 2.040 but no oil holes anyone tried these ? Looked in my 2007 ACL book this morning and they are listed in the performance section. I have used some ACL bearings in the past and they were fine. Looks like there is a guy o...

Re: Anyone know of a source of springs for distributors
Are there only a few numbers that you need or a large assortment ? If it is a limited number and you know or can measure the specs then McMaster might be a source. I did a quick google search and there appears to be plenty of them on E-bay also but you need to know what Delco numbers you need.
