Re: 350ci 470HP Peak at 6000RPM

Here is a dyno test of a 350 sbc with both a dual plane and single plane tested. It is 454 hp dp and 463 hp single plane. In both cases you need to gear the #3600 car to rev it up thru the traps to make full use of the engine power. Think 4.56 (short tire) 4.88+ (taller tire). Needs a 4500-5200 sta...

Re: 350ci 470HP Peak at 6000RPM

Borrowing from the go faster thread. SBC Carb'd. You can make 470 at 6000 if you're actually making a lot more higher up in the revs. A 470 peak comes at higher than 6000 with a SBC. The question is why. I think it's just inlet manifold choices, single planes are too short in the runner for a 6000 ...

Re: HVH SS spacer on a #2970 Edelbrock 4500 intake

I bought a 2970 about 5 years ago for $100 from a drag racer that said they never made any power with the 4500 intake. I should have kept it, but I flipped it and made some big bucks the next day. I always keep my eyes open for another one.

Re: SBC 0il pumps

I found a Moroso Pressure balanced BBC oil pump I bought in the 80's and never used it sitting in a box. Took it apart once, it's a blueprinted Melling TRW pump. Pretty cool, almost hate to use it.

The good ol 305... Not bad numbers at all really for 3.736" inches of bore. Now wheres that 3/4" race cam? Ok. Enough with the cliche lines... What do you think a ported set of these would be worth on a 383. I am totally a sucker for this nostalgia stuff that is just for fun. You could ge...

I’m curious about the clover leaf design and wanted to try it. What was the HP difference?
No hp was tested, was going by how much more effort it took to drive the HV pump over the std. pump. Was the same way on my BBC bumps also.

Re: SBC Intake Manifolds: Creating Another List.

Here's an interesting back to back for you guys. This is a real Boss 302 347 build. Used Price Motorsports port stuffers, had a mild solid roller cam, and did a back to back with an air gap Performer rpm and a Parker single plane with a little bit of plenum blending. It's not a sbc, but shows the t...
