Re: Mission Impossible 318ci 318HP

I can tell you this although I realize this isn't a 350 Chevy, but a 2bbl 350 Camaro stocker has run 10.90s according to the owner, I've seen low 11s in legal NHRA stock trim, which show observed HP to be over 360 HP, these engines have about 220 CFM @ .400 lift @ 28 inches @ the intake port, altho...

Re: Mission Impossible 318ci 318HP

Cam should do it with a 4 barrel, I think it will need more filling time with that BBD 2 barrel. Also think it should have more exhaust timing. But I'd be guessing. Whilst I'm guessing, :D I'd also go for a wider LSA. 107 to 108 LSA 276 276 @ 006, 223 223 @ 50, 471 valve lift. Installed arou...

Re: Big Joe pontiac 301 stroker build

I have three questions:

1. Who ground the crank?
2. Who balanced the assembly?
3. Who did the heads?

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build

I think I have the power to run 10s @ 3200 pounds @ 500 feet elevation, I think there's a few more HP there, just need to find them, then make the carb work with that high vacuum at the hit of the throttle.

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build

This is how I would look at it, .496 net intake lift @ the valve X .85 = .421 actual lift @ the valve running a hyd roller. My flow @ 28 inches was: .200 135 .300 185 .400 220 .450 229 .500 238 .620 253 retainer hit the valve guide. ....... I had 443 HP @ 5800-6200 RPM initial testing. Testing will ...

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build

Speaking of L98s here's the heads. I did a set of those once years ago trying to help out a broke customer and trying to learn more about porting. Managed 245cfm @ .550ish with the stock 1.94". They went on a budget 406 with Mahle pistons and a XE274S in a 3rd gen, 12:1 on E85, RPM AG and a 75...

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build

Why wouldn't I be surprised? You did say once that's it's gear and transmission /converter that count. You've got that covered with 4.56's I would think. Being a mid 80's Camaro, as is mine, you've certainly got my attention. It'll be interesting to see how you get it to hook. How about a update on...

Re: Inexpensive 350 Build

Sounds very interesting. There’s nothing better than a drag test. To bad they’re not as popular to share as engine dyno testing. Can you tell us a little bit about the test car ? And where you race ? What is better is a dyno/drag test, and we have both here, not fancy parts here, but data to share ...
