was watching Roadkill on tv and they installed a transmission style cooler for the steering, what kind of application requires this? do big trucks use steering coolers?

Weingartner has videos where the runners lengths and openings areas are measured of various SBC manifolds, his dyno tests are not very helpful when it comes to street use but theoretically longer runners and smaller cross sections should help street rpm range

agree, the term "port matched" has been misused constantly when the correct term is "gasket matched" for manifolds, very few SBC and BBC aftermarket heads have port openings that are identical to the common gaskets, the corner radius just isn't the same as 1960's Chevy heads, so ...

what makes the engine 75 pounds lighter than BBC? what is the deck height? I could see the canted valve heads add 25# what else?

does the first table for the low manifolds say 471 hp for the ZZ4 and the later table for all manifolds say 451 hp? maybe I can't follow the article

linkage needs to be gone over carefully, maybe disconnect the linkage from each carb leaving a functional return spring for each, I don't know anything about the choke and fast idle setup for that type carb but tinker with them one carb at a time, obviously check the base gaskets for vacuum keaks

on the Motortrend cable channel the other night they were driving a used up SBC that was going about 10 miles per quart of oil, what current oil and or additive will help with terrible ring seal for let's say a month?

how do the exhaust manifolds from a C60 type 427 truck compare to pickup manifolds? manifolds are going to hurt power in the mid range compared to long tube headers

most replacement pistons have reduced compression height to account for decked heads and block, if those are stock bore you might use a straight edge ruler and feeler gauge to find out what you have

I wanted to order studs, plates, and rockers over the holiday, these no name chinese heads take about .670" thread depth before intruding into the port enough to make me consider cutting some off
