Gary, did that chamber mod allow the flow to shift more towards the cylinder wall?

700 hp starting from what 400, or 500 hp?
You need to think about carb placement it terms of the fuel bowls ( slosh) with them up so high and cornering on the street!

Re: Are bigger valves worth it?

With your set up compression wise in terms of reducing back pressure on the Exh stroke, I would go for the bigger Exh valve installed by means of a valve job that picks you up a bunch low lift flow for better blow down of the cylinder! I would not care if the port after the valve being installed did...

Re: Ported Dart pro 1 pre platinum

The effect of mill on chamber depth can effect the pressure recovery factor, and good pressure recovery is a very high thing on my list of good things for making the best power with a given amount of air flow. I am not saying this is cut in stone as some chamber designs realize the power gains you wo...

Re: Extrude Hone shops?

Pdq67 you must have a lot of time on your hands for that?

Re: Extrude Hone shops?

If you can as you say cut , grind and weld then go that route!
If we are talking about a Intake Manifold I would guess ,you will be able to also get the needed port area which The EH process could never do!!

Re: Ported Dart pro 1 pre platinum

Charlie One thing to keep in mind is that on any parallel valve wedge type head is that a good deal more Exh enters the bowl on a angle from the center of the chamber and makes a B line for the cylinder wall side of the bowl! In regards to this to me it means the trough on that side of the bowl and ...

Re: Exhaust / intake flow ratios on LS heads

Hell, I can yank 220 cfm out of the badly bent up iron Pontiac center Exh ports with just one hours work, where as I have spent a combined 3 hours of grinding and flow testing on a iron Ford 460 late model head head just to yank 184 cfm out of it and this was aided by stepping up to a 1.75" val...
