Plug wires
Time for a new set of suppression style wires. Application is a drag race SBC (400 hp), MSD dist, MSD Blaster coil and MSD Digital 6A box. I'm not particular to brand and have had good luck with Accel and Taylor in the past. Experiences with different brands/styles (good or bad) appreciated! :)

Re: My new engine build not making more power than the old e
Its a little difficult to say about the converter since I did not have a transbrake with the old engine. but the brakes gave up around 2600 rpm, With the new engine I can rev it to 3500 rpm on the transbrake but the brakes give out on similar rpm as with the old engine around 2600 rpm The way to ch...

Re: My new engine build not making more power than the old e
I'd be looking at the torque convertor before going much further.
-What did the convertor 'flash' to with the old motor?

Re: merge collectors
I'd be up for trying it. But the cost of four 2-1 stainless merge collectors makes me cringe.......exhausted wrote:You know I never thought of that while at the same time we'll separate inline 6 cyl engines with two complete 3into1 headers, Hmmm.....

Re: merge collectors
Recent dyno tesing with a NHRA small block Chevy Stock Eliminator engine was interesting. Initial testing was with a good set of 1.75" dyno headers with a good set of stainless merge collectors. Changing to a set of mild steel 1.625"/1.75" step headers with a different set of stainles...

Break in roller rockers or reduced spring pressure?
Looking for peoples experience using a reduced ratio (1.3) rocker for cam break in versus using lighter valve springs for cam break in. Application is a non-roller flat tappet SBC with 150 seat/400 open beehives and non-ceramic foot lifters.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Mopar/Weiand 440-6pack tunnelram
Besides the basic mixture distribution fixes, the biggest factor in these intakes is reducing the plenum volume. The stuffer blocks shown in the referenced article is one way to address this. The original tops contributed a large amount to the overall plenum volume. Making a flat top reduces this vo...
