Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
Some advice requested: What's the best setup for individual cylinder fuel tuning for Alpha-N motorcycle engine like this? Are u asking about a tuning hardware setup or a brand name of efi tuning tools? If just asking about a hardware setup, assuming the efi tuning includes closed loop learn and clo...

Re: Got my 306 on the engine dyno today
At this point I have to wonder if we are validating a sim or trying to understand a real world dyno pull? Both. There is only one way to validate a sim. I would of guessed torque and peak torque rpm right on without a dyno. . The process is typically; Predict, Measure, Adjust, wash, rinse repeat. A...

Re: Electronic ignition on the flywheel
In the flywheel is a better idea than the front pulley due to the flywheel having less runout. Use a Holley hall effect pickup and it will achieve a steady timing light you are loki g for, contingent on a proper ignition box.

Re: Rocker Arms: Steel vs Aluminium
Just my experience very recently. I just was on 2023 dragweek with my car. SBF, Brodix Track one Raised Runner heads. I could have gone with a much more aggressive cam through Kuntz, but I didn't want to trade out rockers (different ratios) every track. So cam is 274, 294. .750, .744 lift. Car ran ...

Re: Prove it to me....Camshaft Gear Drive is a HP Killer
27 year old paper, but puts some data to all this and much better than anecdotal information: Camshaft Timing Drive Analysis for a Winston Cup Race Engine One of the major objectives in automotive engine design is to efficiently and reliably transfer power throughout the engine. This study's object...

Re: What problem would I have if I placed the suction of my vacuum pump on top of the external oil tank (dry sump)?
The question has been asked before and here are some of the threads: Why is a vacuum pump needed with a 5 stage dry sump bbc Vacuum pump mounted on dry sump pump Dry Sump BBC setup What I'm not clear on is why a dry sump pump assembly wouldn't be sized properly to scavenge X internal engine volumes ...

Re: Suggestions for a 4x4 pickup truck
Midsize pickup: Taco (Tacoma) TRD. V6 is not a gas miser, the 4cyl might be a better choice if not going to pull anything. Full Size pickup: my '17 Ecodiesel was trouble free. A buddy has one with 125k miles with only an air suspension problem. Avoid their air suspension. Avoid high end Ford 1/2 ton...

Re: bottom bulb winners?
"No Box" can be either with a trans brake or old school foot brake more than likely with a two step leaving on the bottom yellow. The recent Million winner was a no box door car. The guy in the Pontiac Astre (Chevette) is a foot braker and won last Wednesday's 50 grander.

Re: foot brake racing
I would run a two step and use the foot pedal brake switch as the input. Chip it to 1000rpm below stall and let it eat. Easily done in any modern MSD box. I've watched many footbrake (no box) cars at the track get on the chip once both cars are staged.

Re: Laminar vs. Turbulent Flow through a Radiator
Could be possible in the case of a "custom" radiator with tube designed for maximum efficiency. If the after market radiator is using some Chinese cores that aren't anything special, then I would consider the OE copper radiator a better solution. If the OE radiator is cleaned and the copp...

Re: Torsional Test for Roadster Frame
The 1/4 elliptics are going to be mounted to the crankcase girdle or to the side of the frame tube? If mounted to the frame rail, doublers with extended ends should be employed to prevent corners where welds will break. (Think diamond shaped with elongated ends) Look at the illustrations in US105078...

Re: Rocker Arms: Steel vs Aluminium
i would be curious about differences in deflection between the 2 materials i was kinda surprised by the .024 deflection in our setup just looking at max lift with the actual valve springs installed vs theoretical or lift with the checker spring. If someone has decent CAD or 3D scan of a steel rocke...

It'll be interesting if that torque hole at 4700rpm can be tuned around for street use.
