Re: Oil drain back
No sir i have not had any experience with your mentioned Ford V-6 . I am a little confused about what you are saying, what do you mean by camshaft bearings that came off ( Typical insert or needle bearing ) . Mark H.

Re: Somebody has to be wrong
Thanks to each and every one who took the time to respond / comment ! I would like to make one very strongly believed comment about Synthetic Oil, if it could be proven that Synthetic Oil could actually be detrimental to rings sealing up ( knowing you had the proper bore prep.) then one would have t...

Somebody has to be wrong
Going to be running in / breaking in a new engine on a Dyno before to much longer, so the huge decision on which oil to use is on the brain. The parts used will be Darts Iron Eagle block, Total Seal .9mm steel top ring, .9mm Napier 2nd ring, and 2 mm low tension oil pack. The cylinder finish i belie...

I know this has been kind of an A-B conversation for several posts, but please let me sneak in a statement. It is easy to " Over Cam " an Engine especially if the Cylinder Heads are really good . Mark H.

Re: Zero gap rings
What has to be known is if the ring is file fitted to the correct gap, when the engine is up to full temp. there is very little ring end gap. If the engine is run a long time without a freshen up the end gap will increase some. It has been said that research has been done on increasing the end gaps ...

Re: Power difference between wedge and canted chamber
Thanks for your comments Perfcon. Down here in Florida we figured out a long time ago, like 60 years ago that less weight on the front was a good thing in the corners. It is my understanding that a " longer " intake tract ( beginning of intake runner @ plenum to valve seat ) provides more ...

Re: Power difference between wedge and canted chamber
Mr. Schmidt, the question you presented in your opening post does interest me a lot due to the fact that i chose Darts 9 Degree In-line valve Wedge Cylinder Head over a Canted Valve set up. This being said makes my interest understandable . So i am trying to revive this thread for more comments from...
