Re: Crosskart Xtreme best center of gravity height?
It's a weird question, what are you going to change ? You need ground clearance, you need suspension travel, the buggy has been built with arm angles to suit a certain ride height. The cart is an older, lighter model that we bought from a heavier driver and our driver is young and light (and very f...

Re: Crosskart Xtreme best center of gravity height?
They are three way adjustable shocks with free coil-over springs. In my opinion, giving me anything fancier to stare at would be casting pearls in front of a swine.

Re: Crosskart Xtreme best center of gravity height?
In these SMALL kart cross thingies tho pretty sure it's going to be just too high anyway. If it weren't for the standing start, I agree that you'd likely benefit from the lowest practicable CG height during a flying lap. However, the start is very important and if you don't have enough weight on th...

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
The problem with high weight transfer is that it it tends to oversteer under acceleration in turns from the difference in traction/normal force. This is an additional good point which I have to think thru. If you're already accelerating when the still turning, you're using some of the rear wheel tr...

Crosskart Xtreme best center of gravity height?
Any thoughts on the chassis setup for Crosskart Xtreme Speedcar? IMG_7397.jpeg IMG_7115.jpeg This is not a regular race car. On paved track and long races with regular (rear differential) race cars, my rule of thumb is that you want the center of gravity as low as possible and about 60% weight in th...

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
I know this is the wrong forum, but any thoughts on the chassis setup? On paved track and long races with regular (rear differential) race cars, my rule of thumb is that you want the center of gravity as low as possible and about 60% weight in the rear and 40% in the front. With the appropriate susp...

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
We’ve got three fully rebuilt and fully legal engines now in addition to the existing one in the car. With the second (identical to the current) exhaust bunged for individual cylinder fuel tune, each engine should last a very large number of track miles with all cylinders at right AFR at all rpms. O...

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
Is that the correct way to model it? I saw engmod4t has a ton of different ways to model muffler-ish things if proper wave action was required to be simulated. It's an empty resonator can with a perforated tube. I modeled the main muffler using the full muffler functionality, but just modeled this ...

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
According to the simulation, the resonator can hurts a little bit in the 7500-11000 rpm range and does about nothing to the top end:

The screenshot sucks hairy scrotum! ;) Thanks for the comments, I agree that those lips serve no useful purpose and should be ground out. I can't see how those lips help. They stick in to proved a lip that will disrupt the "outside" 50% of the blowdown pulse from smoothly entering the merg...

Re: Highest power exhaust for GSX-R750 L1 2011-2023?
The next question is whether the mid-pipe resonator actually improves performance or just alters the exhaust note. Resonators usually are about narrow band sound. Usually, but in this case I would be afraid to change it unless guided by model simulation or the dyno output of someone who has been th...
