Re: How much to flow heads
We have Westec that will flow the intake and exhaust port for 100.00 and if you want to try a different valve well that would be another 100.00 ask me how I know because I wanted to try different valve and yes they said for a additional 100.00 because they had to replace the other valve and that wa...

It's got a better 60 than I'd have guessed. Best MPH seen? Is it coming close to 121?

You're no longer up near Mt. Olympus?
What sort of MPH is the Monte Carlo running, along w/ the 1.88 60?

Re: 2.56 Gear, Stock Converter, 4100 Pounds, NA 11s?
My guess is that because you are asking the question, you know what the answer is going to be. :D I've heard it said a good trial lawyer never asks a question in court for which he/she doesn't already know the answer. If it can, it won't 60-ft for sh!t and will have to have a big-a$$ top-end ...

Unless there's a lot more going on under the hood than your description implies, no.

Re: Idle mix screws backing out?
I’ve also seen gaskets that looked like they were a short piece of clear tubing. I can’t recall if I’ve ever used those or not. Edit- it seems the ones that look like a piece of tubing are offered by QFT as 27-100, or Holley as 108-126 And then there’s this recommendation: I have some from QFT and ...

Why get rid of the original metering block vs drilling & tapping whatever you want to adjust?

Re: Lowering exh rocker ratio.
Are you adjusting the lash to go along w/ the change in rocker ratio? I.e., same lash at valve with higher ratio is actually increasing the seat duration slightly because the lifter's starting to move lower on the flank.

If nothing else, this thread has certainly shown how differently business owners can view the need for, and benefit of, interacting with prospective or small-job customers.

Re: How much to flow heads
Since this is just a hobby for me, I flowed a number of friends' heads for free simply to help get more data for myself. Then a "friend of a friend" brought me a head to flow... something I'd flowed a number of before... kind of grungy... had to pull the springs... etc. I did 2 cylinders i...

Ohio Crank QC these days?
They post some nicely priced blem cranks on occasion, but IIRC their rep in the past for grinding accuracy and quality control was... iffy. Anyone have feedback on their current products? Thx

Re: Annular boosters for a QF 750 DP
FWIW, a 1.58" v annular and a 1.50" v down-leg made virtually the same power & torque on my 452 ci street/strip engine, which was around 680 HP at 6900 and self-imposed max RPM of 7200. Neither carb was tuned nuts-on at the time, either. A larger down-leg may make more peak HP, but it'...

Re: Annular boosters for a QF 750 DP
I should’ve done this years ago 8) I didn’t mess with my idle circuits, they were dead-nuts so no need make any changes. I duplicated the high and low speed ABs from the old down leg main body and calculated 5% reduction in primary and secondary jetting. It was real close, but actually a touch lean...

Re: Holley squirter question.
Even brass isn't a sure fix... I have pics somewhere of the one I had to drill out that was seized up. I only use stainless-steel squirter check needles now and don't leave a carb sitting for any extended period of time w/o draining it and purging the accelerator pump circuits.
